miscarriage

I had a miscarriage in January of 2011. my doctor encouraged my husband & I not to do a d&c. He put me on a medication to "clean me out." After finishing the medication, approximately 2 months later I began bleeding. I continued to bleed for 54 days. The doctor attempted to stop this by putting me on birth control, completing an entire pack in 5 days, then starting a new pack the following Sunday to take regularly.  The bleeding did not stop.  I ended up having a d&c in October 2011. I also have pcos. Has anyone ever experienced this & could the bleeding have been from my miscarriage and complications from it?

It could very well be the miscarriage causing bleeding. The doctor probably should have done the d&c.. I had a miscarriage in 2009 at 8weeks but for some reason I can't remember if they gave me a pill or not. But I do know for sure that they did not do a d&c.
