Baby Dust 4...POUF!

Hi Everyone!  I'm so excited to start the 4th long post.  :)

Tonight I am having some light cramps on my right abdomen.  I bought a test (hopefully it will work) to take on the morning of Father's Day, the 15th!  :)

I am curious, I know I've read/heard a lot of ladies say, but all of you out there who are mommies or soon to be:  How did you tell your significant other about the pregnancy and upcoming parenthood and what was their reaction?

Thank you!
~Your Katebud~

princesska-your fast labors sound very appealing to me...except for the shock part!

mandy-my belly is feeling tight like it may burst as well....it feels like it's trying to resist getting bigger.  and my belly button hasn't popped but when i lay back a bit, it looks flat and sometimes the baby pokes it out and pulls it in.  mine hurts too!  but it's mostly the tiny whole on top of my belly button where the piercing used to be.  i haven't been nervous about labor, but i recently decided that i am freaked out by the idea of being half numb and am thinking about trying natural birth.  so, now i am very nervous!!

jamie-it does sound gross, but like keeks said, either way, that gunk is going to get all over you so maybe if it gets on me in the water it will at least be dilluted!!  ;-)

childbirth classes-we started last night!  we have 5 sessions over the next 2 1/2 wks.  i found out that i can do a waterbirth but may have to bring my own tub!  weird.

Yea, that's what I'm thinking... that it would be gross to sit in a tub full of belly goo. haha. But I considered it but they squashed that idea since they don't even have the tubs. They said the state made them get rid of them- something about keeping the tubs and filters clean? Apparently that stuff gets in the filters and it's hard to sterilize or something...

I'm not taking any meds now for pain or discomfort- but I'm pretty sure at the end I'm gonna ask for the epidural. I'm hoping I won't need it, but I've had kidney stones before - several times, and if it's WORSE than that...yeah..I'll be asking for something.

And funny, I never had morning sickness either. I was nasueaus a bit. You know like I felt constantly hungover- and I threw up ONCE on Valentines day. That's it. My sister never got it either...I was worried at first, but looking back I feel lucky haha

keeks- yah it was pretty easy labor, and no I did not rip or need stiches, kinda funny though the nurses who all came in afterwards were always asking to see my stiches and make sure they were okay, and I am like what stiches???
I know for my delivery they asked if I wanted to reach down and touch the first babies head, and I thought that seemed pretty gross I just wanted the damn thing out, and then they asked if my husband wanted to take pictures of it coming out..... umm who takes pictures of that stuff? I mean no offence or anything, but how many would really look back on it, and you wouldn't really show too many people those pictures either...I hope lol

ALL- Morning sickness I have never really had, and maybe that makes me lucky I have no idea!! With my twins and this one its been just tired, really tired!! But I am finally getting out of that tired stage, and of course the dizzy feeling every now and then.
Mind you I do get nauseated sometimes and it only last for 30-45 minutes and that is it. So that is why I think this is a boy!

Mandy- Yeah, its actually well I won't say its not that bad, I don't know!! I am the wrong person to ask about labor, lol I had the epidural because with twins its definitely recommended incase of emergency c section, but yeah like I said to princess that is amazing she had natural births, that is awesome!!

Krissyy- I heard water births are supposed to be a little less painful, but I don't really know how, mind you I think its the baby being able to slide out easier due to the water helps out, but I agree with who ever said sitting in that stuff it would be gross, when they popped my water with my boys it was worse then peeing yourself, it just kept gushing and it was all warm and it was just a weird feeling LOL

Keeks/Krissy

Ill post a couple soon.. My bf was supposed to take the 30 week pic yesterday but forgot. haha. So I've got my 23 week pic and a 25 week pic that I'll post on here..

The HELLP thing is going good. My last lab work was really good apparently. I'm shocked I'm not on total bed rest either. Maybe its bc I'm not working right now and I'm taking it easy anyhow. 11lbs feels like a lot to me, everyyone keeps telling me how good I look and how I'm "all baby". My stomach is getting really tight and uncomfortable though.. like my belly button is trying to pop out the other way and it huuuuuurts! Is anyone else having this? Also, when are yall having your baby showers?

Are  any of you getting anxious about the labor? I am .. maybe I worry too much. We have lamaze scheduled for Aug 2. Although I don't see how breathing is going to stop pain? lol

katebud - i have been extremely constipated this pregnancy and it is similar to that feeling for sure  multiplied by thousands. at the start when you are fully dilated and just about ready to push you would swear you needed to go to the toilet. with my first i just kept telling the nurses over and over i just need to go to the toilet. for some reason they wouldn't let me lol.
keeks - i did tear with both of mine first one internally and externally but grazing is actually more uncomfortable than tearing. cause they sew the tear up but grazes are open so when you pee for the next week it stings like hell. i was in labour for 1 half hours with first and 3 with second. first one was bit too quick and i went into shock 2nd was nice. just rocking helped with contractions but i like mandy experienced all contractions in my back so may be different for those who feel it in tummy.
jamie - yes i have left the sex of the baby as a surprise. and i cant wait to find out in 8 weeks what it is - how exciting. i have 4 pounds so far but that is good for me seeing i lost heaps when pregnant with my others.
anyway girls it will all happen and unfold in a way you can never predict so dont try and have too much of a plan it is better to go with the flow. most people who do it naturally are fine until transition satge and then the bad pain hits so they decide to take drugs but by then it is too late and the nurses cant give you anything but gas. so stay strong and remember if it was really that bad would i be going back for a third?? lol

Mandy ~ 11lbs is nothing lol! I dont know how much ive gained but I know its probably low 20's.....However I dont feel big or uncomfortable yet.....I think alot of me is just baby.....and at every appt they've always said my weight gain and measurements are on track so I suppose thats good :)........They didnt tell me about the shot they gave me , mind you they may have and I was just in such a weird state I didnt pay attention , all I know is I got it in the butt and it didnt hurt LOL and since my mom & Gramma works at the hospital , her friend was the nurse who had to give it to me so we had a good laugh over it......I didnt even know weight gain was a side effect , my fiance re-searched it and was the one who asked lol.....Apparently though the weight gain is only a side effect in multiple doses.........Have you had anymore issues since you were diagnosed with HELLP?......And now the early contractions?........Im suprised they havent put you on bed rest, your body must be really wanting to keep that little guy in on its own which is great :).............I dont have pressure on my pelvic bone , but I do like down there in my whoohaa....I think the pelvic bone pressure is just to due everything shifting & lossening , My doctor said anytime its a bone or muscle pressure its from your body naturally doing its thing ........I have that problem in my hips all the time & have since about 14 weeks.....the joys of pregnancy :P

Krissy ~ The birthing videos a friend sent me online , I'll try to find the link again , it had like hospital , water & home births , I only watched a few but DAMN! lol......Its not THAT bad its just not what you expect either because a baby story sugar coats it totaly! lol......Honestly yeah being in water with all the icky stuff would suck , but your not going to the difference in that state of mind & pain , and if it gets the baby out fast and with less trauma then why not , your out within minutes anyways & you dont deliver the placenta in the water.....so really all your in is the rest of your water & some blood....well you get covered in it anyways during birth LOL

Katebud ~ LOL , I love your question to Princess! I was thinking the same thing! lol.....Your lucky , We have to go through it first , so we'll be able to tell you exactly how it feels , especially if Krissy & I go natural LOL......dude I wouldnt wish for nightime sickness.....although it is a bonus that your not like puking all day , its almost worse to get NO sleep & have nausea ALL NIGHT! You dont sleep & then to go about your day just makes it worse......Pray for NO MORNING SICKNESS at all LOL.......My fingers are SOOOO crossed that your the one who doesnt get it!

Jamie ~ Sounds like you had a great labour.....5 hours with twins , lucky you! lol......Hopefully your next one goes just as fast , probably faster since its your 2nd :P........Did you rip or anything or were you completley fine after delivery?......I sometimes wish I was having twins , but then I remember the whole Fiance works away for a month at a time , and I dont think I can tag team 2 babies in our apartment alone LOL......so maybe next time.....if there even is a next time lol
