catheter and C-Section

When do they put a catheter in before C-Section Do you feel it or do they put it in after epidural?

It depends.
They put mine in after.
I don't remember feeling anything.

Clearly it depends on the hospital based on all the different answers, but mine were both before.   They don't do the epidural/spinal until you are on the operating table at my hospital and then they lie you down immediately after putting it in because its going to take effect quickly.   right after you are down, they drape everything up and get started...its a pretty quick procedure actually.   You feel the catheter going in but its not painful, more like pressure.   I think the puncture for the epidural was worse :)....and even thats not that bad.

They put mine before with my both pregnancy it's ok is not as pain as u think just take a deep breath as soon as they insert it lol

i hope that i get after the epidural too , i dont want to feel that :)

I had mine put in after epidural...didnt feel a thing..didnt kno it was in lol

They usually will put it in after u get the epidural so the patient cant feel as much.
