39+3 days and no contractions ):

I am very close to my due date and I haven't really experienced any contractions. I have been having menstural like cramping but nothing painful and I've also been having a lot of pressure down there and i have random shooting like pains down there too for a couple days now. I went to the doctors on Friday and I was told I was 2 cm and 75% effaced and baby's head is really low but how can I be progressing if I have no contractions?? Will I be late??

Contractions normally only happen when you
are in labour. So there is nothing to worry and baby will come when it is ready and nobody can tell when that is. Walking and sex may help baby come sooner.
Good luck

Atleast you know you're dilating etc :) im 39+5 but midwives dont examine until 41 weeks so I have no idea whats going on! (Poor husband isnt quite a midwife haha) the sharp stabbing pains are baby pushing his head further down so thats a good sign, the slight cramping could be pre/early labour, sounds like u could kick in to labour anytime! Try a good long walk? Usually helps. Ive been having braxton hicks but thats about it for me so far :( probs gonna go over x
