Great Thread! I am 42 and pregnant BUT I am using embryos from when I was 38 with frozen donor sperm.  My dh and I conceived naturally and easily with our dd when I was 39 but I think she might have been my last good egg.  Luckily I got her!

I have a question for those of you who are 42 and pregnant with your own egg.  Do you know what your FSH was when you conceived?  I'm just wondering, if this pregnancy doesn't work out for us, whether there's any hope for conceiving naturally again or whether we should go donor egg.  (MY FSH is 15.4).

Thanks.  Good luck to all!  I would love to keep "in touch" with all of you on this same time frame - and in this age range!:)

Thanks for the update, glad to hear all is well.  I am also one who conceived naturally and have birth at almost 41.  I had 5 miscarriages prior to having my son, and although it was a hard time in my life, I can say it was worth it!  He is almost 9 months old now and the light of my life.

I hope you come in here once in a while as well.  This community is geared towards anyone with an interest in pregnancy over 35, and the groups by month are to have those expecting the same time as you to share the experience with.  They work well in conjunction with each other.

Your story is quite similar to mine: I had 1 failed IVF (early miscarriage), 5 failed inseminations and a lot of money out of my bank account for them in 2006/2007. Then I was forced to try naturally, I got 2 more miscarriages and an August pregnancy last year when I was in vacation in Yellowstone and almost 41, completely natural as well - I am sure that being very relax on that trip played a big role.

My little May 2010 bundle of joy is now 5 months old!

Good luck for the ride, it's a fun one!

Hi Everybody,  I didnt check much this post because  I founded  "may 2011 babies" forum here at medhelp,  so join me there or look for the month where you will be delivering.... its soo much fun!

2nd
I just turn 42 in july and My pregnancy was very natural , no pills, no treatment.
My 2nd and  last IVF was in OCT2009 and i swear , I was done with all these procedures and was in god hands. I am healthy and they didnt find anything wrong with us but it was just about timing..and we didnt have much of that time so we when right for IVF, icsi, pills ,,,etc I gained 50 pounds in 2 years...yes that s all i got + $10,000 spend out of my pocket.

When i missed my period i though it was just "late" summer stress , the beach, the running around, the family visiting..etc  "its a good stress  but still a stress....lol) and then i went to my doctor and he confirm my pregnancy

3rd

I am now 10 weeks and 6 days and i just today made the appoinment to see my new doctor. I used to live in NYC and we moved to  new jersey so i need to find a new doctor. I will see him on tuesday next week and i guess i will have that test "CVS"  that scare the life out of me.
I have feeling it will be a boy ( even though i would love to have a girl...lol)  my husband of course  wants a boy...but besides all these we are just praying for a healthy baby  boy or girl , we will love him/her too much!....

All the moms to be please  in May , please join me in the forum : may 2011 babies" ..

and if  you are in june go to   june 2011 babies

I hope to see you there..its a lot of info!

good luck and a healthy pregnancy to everybody

Just checking on you to see how you are doing.   I have finally gotten into the 2nd trimester, so I'm breathing a small (very small) sigh of relief.    I had the CVS testing done at 10 weeks 6 days and everything is perfect and normal and its a baby boy.    Hope you are doing well, and good luck to every mama in their 40's ttc...stay with it, we can do it :)

I am 40 yrs old and will be 41 when i deliver. Everything is going well and baby is fine. We already took a special sonogram for down syndrome and my third chromo levels were very low and i take my afp this friday but i am not worried. I declined the amnio but i am taking a special blood test with my sonogram doct. Bottom line don't worry sweetie age is just a number.

Hi, I just turned 43 and am 8 weeks pregnant.   Congratulations to you.   I'm in the same boat as you, so super excited, but incredibly nervous every single day.   I've had 2 previous m/c's....both ended right away, one the beta's never doubled and the second one, no heartbeat...just a sac.    This was has been great so far.   Beta numbers have more than doubled each time, heartbeat was great last week...130 and baby measured exactly on target.    I still refuse to uncross my fingers, even though I'm completely plagued with nausea.    I've never been so happy to feel so sick.    This was my own egg, I actually had started to look into donor eggs, but my last month of trying on my own, got a BFP.    so far so good.     It CAN happen for us, I know alot of woman our age that have had great luck!   Stay positive, enjoy every single moment :)

I'm 41 and 24 weeks preggo with a boy! Congrats! This is a great board, lots of info and hope. My pregnancy has been uneventful (but very exciting!), healthy. Had a normal level 2 ultrasound recently. The ONLY bad thing is that my OB reminds me of my advanced maternal age every visit, but I just laugh! So best wishes to you and all of us!

Welcome! I got a huge surprise myself! These ladies are wonderfully informed and sometimes wickedly funny! Just wait until you try the pregnancy tracker... I found this site when I logged on to do some research and have been so lucky ever since. Finding yourself pregnant at 42 can be isolating if it's not planned and everyone has been great!  I worried at first because I hadn't been trying but they make you feel supported either way. Nice community and soundingboard as we won't tell anyone till we have the cvs test.... (ok, i told a couple of people... he's much better at that than I am...:) We are due in mid April as well, good luck and congrats! You couldn't have come across a better site!

I am OVER 42 and pregnant 9 weeks with twins.   I had the advantage of using donor eggs, so kudos if yours are from your own eggs !   I am in shape and look young, so that will help.   I feel this is going to stick (First IVF ended in miscarriage) and have nausea to remind me all is going well.     A friend of mine just had twins with her own eggs and she is over 40.  She carried them full term and delivered them vaginally.  I wish you the best.

Congrats!! I just had my bambino 4 months ago, I turn 42 next month.

Word to the wise, most of us had bad experiences with DR's, test, etc...(comes with age)....but in the end most of us also had happy healthy babies.

Take what the DR's and tests say with a grain of salt...and try not to get tests that only cause unnecessary worry.
