44 and iui #2

Hello ladies, i was wondering, anyone here 44 get pg with iui? I did ivf in May,Bfn, did Fet, bfn....had TR in Sept. Tried natural for 2 cycles, then didn't want to waste any time so went for iui with injectables. I know a few ladies who got pg naturally at 43.
Thank you,
Melanie

Hi, the original post was 2011, I am happy to say that after enduring 3 years of many treatments and a miscarriage I have a beautiful 8 month baby girl via donor eggs!

Hi, I'm 43 and in the past year underwent 3 IVF cycle. The third cycle was or successful cycle. I am currently 13 weeks pregnant. I used my own eggs all 3 cycles. Try acupuncture before your cycle, during your cycle and right before and after your embryo transfer.

Hi Pam,
    I only tried naturally 2 times, I really didn't want to waste time so we wanted to boost our chances by doing iui with injectables. We had our TR in September, thank you for your kind words!
Hugs,
Melanie

Although I conceived naturally twice, once at 43 the other 45, I think you have an excellent chance however it happens!  I wish you loads of luck and blessings!!  Pam

First of all, don't worry about statistics any way, because you are ovulating like a twenty-something woman with your FSH and AMH! IVF odds aren't great for any woman at any age, so there may not be any reason why it didn't work. BUT with 7 good follies and an IUI, I think your chances are GREAT! Babydreamr is right. The chances are not huge w/IUI each time, and that's why you have to do it a few times. But I think THIS month is the month for you! Seven follies? WOW! I'm praying for you, Mel! I have a really good feeling! P.S. It might not be easy to find tons of women successful at 44 with IUI because normally their FSH is much higher than yours! So don't worry! Oh and I had a friend who accidentally got pregnant at 48. You can TOTALLY do this, sweetie! I know it! Hang in there!

I decided to try for #4 ONLY because i have a friend who got pregnant naturally at age 44 and 10 months.  I figured, if she can do it.......

If you look on this and other forums, there are lots of women that get pregnant naturally, or w/IUI and IVF.  For us, it's just a matter of producing that magical healthy egg.  With 7 follies near maturity, there is a good chance you have a healthy egg that is going to stick.  I have heard the stats on IUI's are 20% per month, most women needing 3-4 before successful. I'm sure those stats go down after 40 - but with 7 follies, that's got to help the odds! {{{Hugs}}}

I know what my odds are, I was just asking If anyone has gotten PG with IUI. My FSH is 7.0 and my AMH is 5.6. I had my U/s this am and have 7 follies from 13.9-16.75. I am really excited. Honestly I am not looking for anyone to tell me how old I am and that my eggs are OLD. I hear that all the time! I know what the statistics say! No need to repeat them!

I honestly dont know what your chances are at IUI.. at 44, each woman is different. If IVF didnt work with your own eggs Im not sure how IUI would be any better. Have you had your FSH tested? I am curious as to what your RE thinks of your chances of success and whether your eggs will fertilize. Good luck though.
