37 weeks pregnant & no signs of labor approaching!!

I am worried because my due date is only a few weeks away and I have not had any signs of labor approaching. No dilation or effacement has tooken place. No BH contractions either. Nothing what's so ever to suggest that I'll be going into labor with in the next few weeks. I'm getting worried I am a first time mom.  I just really thought their would at least be some kind of signs of labor approaching by now. I'm freaking out that I might go over do. Had any one had this experience already. Any advice on what I can do to get my body going?

How are you doing now?  I'm assuming you have had your little one by this point?  

For some women, labor can happen all the sudden without any previous signs.  For others, it's a slow process with lots of signs leading up to the big day.

i would think that is quite normal.  when your baby is ready to come out, i had no signs of labor forehand, and actually spent almost a whole day in labor and didn't even realize it.
your baby will be here before you know it.   enjoy your last days of pregnancy

It will probably all of a sudden start happening.  Not to be a downer, but first time moms are very often late with that first baby.  I was 10 days past my due date. I also had not a lot going on at the point you are in the pregnancy.  What started happening during week 39 or there abouts was a lot of discharge of various colors.  Goopy, gross, pink, yellow, greenish at times, weird discharge.  (maybe my plug and it came out over days and not in a dramatic single event like a plug).  I also got diarrhea.  Lots of bathroom time.  I then began having pretty intense pressure in my vagina.  Like wowie, felt like the baby was right there.  Then on day 40 weeks plus 10 . . .  I went from 1 cm to 10.  So, it WILL happen but sometimes not on our schedule unfortunately.  Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing!
