5weeks 6days

After 2 years of trying we are finally pregnant. I just had my first ultrasound today, I am 5Weeks 6Days. The ultrasound tech didn't say much at all, just that it looks like I am 5week 5 days. I called my doctor office to see if I was supposed to make an appointment with my OBGYN. The medical receptionist answered said they got the ultrasound and asked if the tech had said anything to me. I got a little nervous not knowing where she was going and I said "no, is there something wrong"? She said "nothing is wrong, but she didn't confirm the pregnancy with you"? I told her "yes, she did. I thought by the questions you were meaning talk to me  about something being wrong". The receptions said the heartbeat was 96 which was normal  and the doctor would probably recommend a 2nd ultrasound in 5-7 days. If the heartbeat was normal why would I need a 2nd ultrasound in 5-7 days? Is this normal? I am freaking out!!

With my first pregnancy my doc ordered several ultrasounds in my first trimester. I've had three with this one and I'm 14 weeks. Don't stress out unless they said something was wrong it's not good for you or baby. The ob ultrasound tech knows more about what to check for with pregnancy so maybe that's why they want another one so soon. Praying everything works out there's nothing on the world like it!

Hi I'm 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I'm on my second pregnancy (IVF) and for both I had ultrasounds done on wks 6,8 and 10 then my fertility doctor releases to my OBGYN. I'm not 100% sure if The # of ultra sounds have anything to do w/IVF or not but I would def ask the doctor or nurse if I were you. That's why they're there for to answer all your questions.  Congrats and good luck.
