Anyone pregnant after recurrent miscarriage?

Hi everyone. Just found out I'm pregnant again after 3 miscarriages. Had 5 in total but had my little boy after first 2. I'm not on any medication as I've had loads of tests done and all clear. My consultant told me to attend my epu as soon as I get a positive. I rang them and have app. For wen I'm 7 weeks. I've usually miscarried by then. My  consultant  does not believe in progesterone so I'm meant to just hope for the best.
I'm only 4 weeks now so have the longest 3 weeks ahead.

If anyone is in the same situation I would love some advice .

Hi Stacy, I am 44 (43 when I found out I was pregnant) and have had 4 miscarriages: 1998 stopped forming around 8 weeks and lost at 16; 2010, 2011 and 2012, no fetal pole was detected. My dr. did a bunch of tests and determined that my antibodies would attack the egg thinking it was a virus, never giving it a chance to grow. We tried progesterone suppositories  and vitamins in an attempt to conceive in 2012 and it worked, but my body still attacked it.  Forward to 2015, my fiance and I set a wedding date, I was going to the gym, eating healthy and did a complete lifestyle change in an attempt to look good for the big day.  I am now 16 weeks 6 days and everything is looking good.  We were not trying, we had both given up and I couldn't handle the losses any more.  My doctor believes it was the change in lifestyle that allowed this to happen... So far, all genetic tests have been clear, all screens are good, my cervix is good... things seem to be falling into place.  Also, as a side note, my due date is Christmas :)  best of luck!

Hi, I'm so glad your doctor gave you progesterone. At the early stages it kind of feels like the only pro-active thing out there to help on some level with miscarriages. I just had my 8 week scan and the baby looks great. Strong heartbeat, etc. iIt was such a relief to see, as most of my symptoms have vanished. The ones that do remain-- fatigue and bloating-- I was convinced were symptoms from the progesterone, not the pregnancy. What a delicate, mysterious time the first trimester is....

I was the same. Several 1st trimester miscarriages. My Dr told me that he doent wan6 ro do the tests to see if I have a blood condition as he is going to treat me as if I have anyway.
I was put on Progesterone suppositories and Clexane shots from 2 weeks pregnant.
I am now 39 weeks and have only 9 days to go!
I highly recommend progesterone as it worked for me.
Good luck
X

I went toy gp today and with alot of persuasion I convinced her to give me progesterone.  Not before she rang 2 consultants in 2 different hospitals. .got it none the less. It may be of no help but I will have a little more peace of mind as you said. It's very early days I'm only 4 weeks today so at least the nxt 3 weeks to my scan might not seem so long.

Good for you !  I had my ultrasound yesterday and we saw the little heart beat I am so happy! Wish you the same !

My obstetrician prescribed my progesterone. 200mg twice a day. I don't know... If I were you I would go to my appointment, and see how everything looks on the ultrasound. If all is well--ask for a prescription for progesterone. If he says no, tell him you've done a lot of research and progesterone pills would give you tremendous peace of mind.  My obstetrician is very young (early 30's) and quite progressive. In my experience (seeing what my over 35 friends have gone through)  it's older doctors who shy away from progesterone...

I miscarried in August at 7 weeks. Am now 6 weeks and 4 days. My doctor prescribed progesterone right away at 5 weeks. Who knows if it will work, but it certainly gave me peace of mind. I wish you the best of luck. Please keep us updated...

Did ur gp prescribe the progesterone. ?? Last time I was starting to bleed I asked about progesterone and I was told I could only start it if a viable pregnancy was seen. Everyone I see that has had recurrent t miscarriage seems to be on progesterone. What do I have to do to get on it?

Oh I am praying for you that this is your time and all will be ok. It's such a tough time and one that should be enjoyed not constant worry.
I wish my doctor would have prescribed progesterone for me...thought after 3 in a row that I'd be better looked after. .
Feel like I'm all alone again with no medical support.
Just hoping I make it to my 7 week appointment and don't end up in there before that .
