Baby measuring 6 days larger than he should

Just went for a NT scan this morning, and the scan itself was great.  One thing confused me though.  The tech said that the baby is measuring at 13 weeks 6 days, but there is no way that I am more than 13 weeks pregnant. (We had an IUI 11 weeks ago today, meaning that i should be exactly 13wks+/- a couple of days, but probably not 6.)  I am a little concerned because I am almost at the point where i am measuring a full week ahead of where i should be.

Is this anything to worry about?  I know that these measurements are just based on averages and that some babies are bigger and some are smaller, but if anyone has any info to share, that would be great.  At what point does growth start to vary among different babies?

Thanks ladies!

g

The same thing happen with my first son Cooper. He always measured a week or so ahead at the later ultrasounds.  He actually came about two weeks before his due date weighing in at 8lbs 3oz, so I guess he was growing big and strong and his own rate! He is now my very special Baby Angel so, I am sure he is still growing big and strong in Heaven!

Isn't funny how we worry about everything! Just keep eating well and feeding that little (or not so little) baby of yours!

Congrats on being in the 2nd trimester!

Hi! Definately nothing to worry about. For one thing, U/S are not extremely accurate. And yes, babies grow at different rates. I've been measuring 1.5 - 2 weeks ahead all pregnancy and at 35 weeks I measured 40 cm. I'm going for an u/s next week to check the baby's size but I tend to have big babies so I'm not too worried. Growth among babies can begin to vary pretty early. My first u/s was at 10 weeks and baby was measuring a week ahead and I know exactly when I got pregnant.
