Don't forget to call your insurance and ask them about the free breast pump ladies!

My other 4 children had no issues with breastfeeding but they were prior to surgery. I certainly hope and pray it doesn't effect my production. Thanks to each of you for your input!

I have never had a breast reduction, however I did have problems with not producing enough with my first and I ended up buyibg a Medela Supplementing Nursing System. It is kinda spendy (around $50 on amazon) but toally worth it. It has a little bottle that holds the milk/formula and a tube that goes from the bottle to your nipple. And what happens is when the baby latches it latches on your nipple and the tube so if you don't produce you can still get the closeness and bond that comes from breastfeeding

My cousin had a br and couldn't breastfeed with either of her kids but everyone is different. I can't bf this baby due to medical issues this time and I'm super upset about it as it was an amazing experience with my son

Yea my breast are super sore and tender this time around. I had surgery 2 yrs ago. I'm hoping I can breast feed because I will miss out on that bonding experience that I had with my previous 2 children.

I unfortunately did not get so lucky. I had a breast reduction and tried to breast feed both of my kids. They were starving, literally. The doctor did tell me the milk ducks my not line up. But of course try everyone is different. Good luck.

Your breasts are still healing. Its a huge surgery. They suture you from the inside out. The inner sutures are disolvable but may take a while to completely disolve. A year after is still fairly new and still healing. I have the most sore tender breasts right now with this pregnancy. But I've breast fed all 3 of the children I've had since my reduction with no issues. One for a year, anither for 22 mos, and 3rd for 14mos. You guys shouldn't have any issues either.
