C-Section

Went to my two weeks check up and the doctor scheduled me to have a c-section  @ 38 weeks. Is a c-section painful? How long is recovery? This will be my first one. Had both daughters vaginal. Scared

Im not there yet but I can say my sister's experience went well for her c section  it was not originally planned, but because she was not dilated enough, that resulted to her emergency c section. She had been in labor for over 24hrs. Also, she had already received an epidural so her she was awake throughout her c section procedure. The baby was not breech.  She said she felt nothing and her anesthetic wore off within a day or so. Her incision was also very small and she was walking during her recovery when my family and I were there to see her the next day. I agree with what everyone else about recovery times vary from person to person. Today, she said if she had to go through the c section delivery again, she would. On the bright side, she did not need to experience any vaginal tears, if she were to have a natural birth delivery.

I've had two c-sections.  The first one is scary, but it went well.  They told me that I did very well afterwards.  It felt as if someone scratched me.  Weird, but yes, everyone recovers at their own pace.  I can tolerate pain OK.  The second one was a breeze for me.  Just remember to take an easy afterwards and take things slow.  It will be alright!  :). Good luck!

A c section is not as bad as people say it is. I was back at work within 3 weeks. The 1st 2 days may be the worst when you get up an ty to walk just hold the bottom of your stomach and you will be ok.

My amniotic fluid is really high but I passed all of my testing. They do not know why my fluid level is high. Baby is fine, nothing wrong. Was breeched and was turned but last week he went breeched again. I go to a specialist every week besides my OBGYN to watch my fluid. My OBGYN says because I have so much fluid if my water breaks it could be dangerous. Since head is not down and my water breaks it would all come out and could dry up fast harming the baby. But he has so much room he can turn again. My specialist said that they could try to make him turn to avoid a C-section. I guess taking precautions just in case he doesn't turn bck around by 38 weeks.

6 weeks is full recovery time. The first couple days are the roughest.  But within hours you will be up and walking a bit. You'll end up staying for a couple days in the hospital with baby. It's not as scary as you think.  Promise. Just takes a bit more to recover from.

My manager was out for a month. My friend a few weeks. Everyone recovers at their own rate though.

Why did they schedule the c section? For the drs convenience or something is actually wrong?

Why are they doing a c section?  My baby has been breech and I told my dr I don't want a c section so what can I do to turn her? Luckily she turned all on her own but all I know is I wanted to avoid surgery as much as possible... friends that have had them have been out of commission for at least a week but still not 100% for a few... with botth my vaginal deliveries I was up and walking right off the delivery table
