Could I be pregnant?

Okay, you'd think I know this by now but I experienced something I never have before and I can't get it off my mind...could I be pregnant?
After my dh and I had sex, I experienced a little bleeding(pinkish brown).  I have never had this happen in our 20 years together.   I am wondering if it's implantation bleeding, an early period or just from the sex.  My periods are VERY regular... almost always 28 days, every once in a while 27 (1 or 2 months a year) and I think maybe once, 26 days but never less than that.  This would be 24 days and about 9-10 days after ovulation(which makes sense for implantation bleeding) and timing wise, it's possible.
Tonight, I am a little nauseated and crampy.  I am no longer experiencing the bleeding.  It pretty much stopped last night after I went to the restroom.

Any thoughts?  I know I will know in a couple days(my period is due) but it's consuming me!!!

I had that exact thought...that I may have been, but it didn't take.  I have tracked my cycles for a LONG time and know my body really well, and this month just wasn't normal.

I wish you all BFP's in the future.  My dh and I are not actively trying anymore....looking into adoption to see if that's right for us.

Good luck to all.

Hi Folks!

I'm 44, TTC our first, and I've been through this same thing many times. One often thinks, "this month it doesn't feel like it normally does." I never get too disappointed - at my age there are no guarantees - but I do wonder, just like you, whether when things are a bit strange it might have been an early miscarriage that washed out. Sounds strange, but such an event would give me hope that at least it's POSSIBLE for me to conceive. Anyway, when AF comes I always think of it as my body redecorating for the next try. :)

I'm sorry to hear the news, well guess what, I got my period late last night about 2:00 am.
very light spotting I guess, so I waited to see if it would wash out. I have a pretty normal period today unfortunately, I thought it could be break through bleeding like some women including me have experienced.  So, I will keep my fingers crossed, but honestly all the symptoms I had been feeling are gone too :( no upper abdominal swelling/bloating, no cramps, general uncomfortableness, somehow my period is an abnormal 4 days early.  I'm never ever early once a year I might be 2-3 days late but this is bazaar! maybe I was pregnant and it just didn't take?  That's why I've read that it is not a good idea to get one of those early pregnancy tests because  finding out too early, can be very stressful just to realize that in a few days it's all a wash out. I'm glad I waited. Well, here's to trying again this month!  Good Luck Barb!

Well, false alarm! AF came yesterday so the bleeding on Monday was a fluke.
I think I'm having one of those crazy months!  My head is about to explode this morning(headache).  I have a couple months a year where I have more extreme PMS symptoms than normal.  The progesterone cream helps enormously, but still I can count on a couple months being more severe...this is probably one of them.

Thanks for all your comments and support!  I hope you all get BFP's very soon!

Barb

Barb, I forgot to ask you have you been getting cervical mucus more than usual? After your ovulation is done usually you should be pretty dry, well as for me I have just been more fluid than I've seen in a long time.  Now, the only think I could attribute it to is that last month I started to take Evening Primrose Oil. This was to improve my CM and increase my chances of conceiving. I don't think that this is responsible for all my unusually early PMS/Pregnancy Symptoms.  Anyway, Good Luck Keep us posted!

Hi Barb!  You very well could be pregnant, I'm in your very same situation!  I'm 43 and have been trying!  I've also been reading online that the very earliest signs of pregnancy are just that! (PMS) symptoms. I also have had spotting, to add to that I've had bloating, little nausea, dizziness, cramping, my breasts are feeling fuller, headaches except that my period is not due till the 14th of Sept. All these symptoms started with cramps on the 4th. 10 days too soon.  I'm religiously on time a 28 day cycle.  I normally get PMS 2 days before my cycle starts not 10 days!  I haven't tested yet, I just as well wait till after the 14th just to be sure.  I can handle the wait, not to mention there's always that chance that I could miscarry and wash out by the 14th, God I hope not!  I just want to make sure that it takes before getting my hopes up. I've been trying naturally,  I have only been trying for my second month now.  I know, I know  it takes women over 40 a lot longer.  I'm just anxious!  I should be patient.  I've just been sooo fertile all my life and have gotten pregnant when the wind blows!  and I have a 3.5 year old son, just working on his sister, my LAST!  one.

Barb - sounds like the crampy twinges also could be implantation cramping that can last a few days.  I've tried ovulation tests and used it last month and it showed my LH surge, but I didn't get pregnant, I will probably use it again this month but will also try what the doc suggested as well with is BD on 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th days of my cycle.  I have to go back on the 25th for more blood work which they said they are checking my progesterone level.  We'll see.  Hope all is well, hope AF doesn't show for you and that you eventually get a BFP - could be too early for a positive home test.

Tracey,
I know, I do that ALL the time!  I read too much on the internet too!
Yesterday I bought a preg test and a yeast infection test(because what I read), both came back negative.
I have a headache, bloating, emotional...but I get those when I am PMSing too.  I am pretty sure it's just that and I will start AF tomorrow.  The only other different symptom I have since the bleeding is, I feel a LITTLE crampy...not real cramps, but more like twinges, I call them.  And, it seems constant, just an uncomfortable pressure feeling(??).

My dh and I were trying for a awhile and I did get preg this Spring but miscarried.  We made a decision not to try anymore and look into adoption. We joked the weekend we made that decision that we'd probably have an "oops" now.  Actually, I would love it, if I were preg.  Even though we decided not to try anymore, deep down, I still want another and he does too but there are other issues.

Congrats on your tests coming back good.  Have you tried ovulation tests to see when you are ovulating?  What about progesterone cream(natural)?

Keep me posted on you and I'll do the same.  I'm sure AF will arrive tomorrow.

Take care,
Barb

Hey Barb, I do the same thing as you, I go to bed thinking on thing about being pregnant and then wake up saying there's no way.  It's what we women do, we over think and over analyze everything.  I hope if you want it to be, that it's a BFP.
I got results from my fertility testing today and everything looks good.
FSH is 6.3, TSH is 1.5 and Estradial is 22, doctor and everything I've read say these are really good numbers so I'm hoping to get pregnant very soon.
Take care and let me know what happens.

Thanks.  I agree with you...everything I read, points to implantation bleeding.  I may pick up a preg test today, although I will most likely get a negative result.
When I was preg in the spring(miscarried), I took an early preg test a few days before I was supposed to start and it showed negative.  It only showed positive on the day of my missed period.
Last night I convinced myself I was preg and this morning I am now thinking, it's just a fluke and I'm not.
I will keep you posted!

Maybe you are pregnant.

They sell special "early" pregnancy tests.  I would take one.

Keep us posted on the result.

From everything I've read it sounds like implantation bleeding and the nausea and crampiness go with that as well.  However, I've also read that these are pms symptoms as well.  I would compare your symptoms to previous pms and see if they are similar, if not you could be pregnant.  I know this might not help, but that's what I've read in my research online.  The pinkish brown is what I've read of implantation bleeding, as long as it doesn't appear bright red like a normal period or period spotting the chances of implantation bleeding are likely, also as long as it wasn't heavy, more like spotting tends to indicate implantation bleeding as well.  Hope this helps somewhat.
