Milk is actually not good for heartburn as the acid curdles the milk and can make you vomit.
Peppermint or ginger are great natural remedies for heart burn. For any type of medication,  check with your doctor or midwife.

Tums or milk works best for me. Also making sure im sitting up when it happens. Makes it go away a little faster. I try to stay away from all other drugs. I stick to tums if its at its worst. Hope it gets better :)

That's actually a myth. Heartburn comes from a few things. The baby is pushing up on the stomach as baby grows & takes up more space which can cause food/stomach contents to go back up the esophagus. Pregnancy hormones slow down the digestive track making food linger in your system much longer than it used to. Your portion sizes play a role too. Combine all that together & you get on nasty date with heartburn.
There are lots of medicines out there that are safe & approved for pregnancy, but yes, always consult your doctor to see what's best for you before taking anything.

Zantac is great for a 12 hr fix when sypmtoms start, but Prilosec is also safe during pregnancy & prevents symptoms from even starting. My doctor put me on once daily Prilosec in the morning on an empty stomach & I haven't had one bout of heartburn in 5 weeks.Check it out & see if it's something for you.
