Help Sleeping!!

Everytime I need to call my OB for something, it falls over the weekend when I can't reach him...well I could if it's an emergency, but this isn't.  So, I'm turning to my trusted ladies on the forum....Help! I can't sleep!!!  I'm getting like 2-3hrs max per night, and it's not even a solid stretch...tossing, turning, getting up to pee, I can't get comfy. I've tried all the natural remedies, like chamomile tea, a warm bath, I have pillows galore on my bed, and nothing is helping.  I have heard Unisom, Benydryl and Ambien are a class B med, making it little to no risk, but I even hate to take anything labeled "little" risk.  I will call my OB tomorrow, but I would love to know if anyone is experiencing sleep deprivation during their pregnancy, and what if anything your OB said is safe to take.  I've gotta get some zzz's, I'm a zombie!!  Thanks for listening : )

Thanks all!  Actually last night I was able to sleep.  I am pretty active during the day, plus chasing a 2yr old, so tiring out my body isn't the problem.  I think for me, it's more of my mind racing, and trying to get comfortable.  I know it's all part of being pregnant, and if I had to get up and go to work every morning it would be a different story, but I'm a SAHM, and I figure if I get tired enough, I can always nap.  Thanks for your replies!  Pam

Pam - I too have trouble sleeping. I get up ever 1-3 hours but I have found that on the days where I have had my Pregnancy fitness class or on days where I have done alot of "physical" stuff I sleep more than 3 hours at a time. My new pregancy Yoga class is really helping too. But for me I think my uninterrupted 8+ hours a night of sleep are over?

I always took 1/2 or 1 generic unisom. My dr. said that was just fine. I just needed a little boost!

Pam-I experienced the same thing when I was pg w/ our DD. I was an elementary school teacher and I really needed my sleep but I would toss and turn all night. I tried everything under the sun except for meds. Out of nowhere one night, I just started sleeping through the night. I don't know if my body became so exhausted and finally gave in, or what. I wish I could tell you I had a remedy but I just rode it out and finally started getting some sleep. I hope your dr can give you some more helpful answers.
Take care
