I need help quick!!

I'm so confused reading everything about dates and periods that I am now so lost to find out when I conceived.. I found out at what was suppose to be my Pap smear/birth control visit that I was pregnant!! I'm shocked and over whelmed as I'm 37+, take my bc pills regularly, take all necessary precautions to avoid this happening. My periods over the last year have changed and vary to heavy/light and short/long and on time/not on time so I have been thinking I'm going thru the change of life!!! To sum this up I had sex on September 29 and on October 21. I had a pelvic ultrasound done right after hearing the shocking news and from measurements of US (not period bc I've had some bleeding every month not sure what was period and what wasn't) doctor told me I am 5 weeks 1 day.. So I'm thinking that date of sex of oct 21 would be when I got pregnant. Can someone tell me if this is correct?

So based on the 21st of October that makes sense to be at 5 weeks.  Just count back from today and its only a couple of days off.

I don't understand what your saying sidereal? I'm so confused!! I've read where it says you take 2 weeks off what doctor said and then Sperm can live in body for 5-7 days which based on that puts it right there with oct 21 sexual encounter.. But then I see where sperm can stay up to 10-12 days and I'm not sure on the 2 week thing bc I'm not sure how to take the literature as 2 weeks from measurement of US or was it talking about periods.. In this case let's leave period out of it totally To be honest and Only take into acct what doctor told me of 5 weeks 1 day.. What do u think

Oh, and I was conceived while my mom was on bc. If you're overweight, it lessens it's protection.  If you do t take it at the same time every day it lessens. So many factors come in to play.

5 weeks 1 day would be Co sidereal your last cycle estimate.  Figure out that date and add roughly 10-15 days for most women to ovulate. Hope that helps.
