I'm trying to get pregnant

I'm 38 yrs old, I have 7 children. I had an abortion in August 2008 and I've been trying to get pregnant for the last 2 yrs and I haven't had any luck. So my question is Can I still get pregnant?

No I haven't had testing done yet but I'm going in the morning to have all of that done. For some reason I do think that I have some  complications from the d&c. I hope everything is fine because I really want another child now. Thanks everyone.

There are alot of us here your age and older who are pregnant.  I am due in July,  a month before my 40th birthday.  Also,  i have a 2 year old.  I had her when i was 37.

4 miracles is right.  You need to start tracking your ovulation (or find out if you are ovulating).  There are alot of good phone apps,  fertility friend is one.  This will give you an idea of when you are ovulating.  Its not 100% accurate.  You can also take your BBT in which you track your temperature every day in the morning.  Spikes will let you know when you are about to ovulate.  Also,  ovulation strips can be helpful.

Its good to get a full checkup by the doctor before trying to get pregnant.  Its possible you could have had a complication from the d&c.   Also,  if your not ovulating,  the doctor can prescibe meds.

Im a firm believer that its important to take care of your body before and while ttc.   Start taking prenatal vitamins and exercising.  Quit smoking , drinking,  etc.  Limit caffeine intake.
