Just a few questions

Hi, I am 42 and 9w4d preg with my 6th baby, 4 were healthy pregnancy one was a miscarriage at 6w as it was a blighted ovum.

Ok here are my questions... I feel my uterus tightening, it reminds me of braxton hicks. It is only when I lay down I can feel it tightening and then loosening, I can also feel the baby fluttering, I know if I said that to my doc she would say it is impossible, even as I sit here typing this I can feel fluttering. ok ok.. am babbling here... The question was is it normal for this tightening and loosening? (feel really dumb as I have had babies before, but my last one was 10 years ago)

Second Question
I have been having a stabbing pain behind one of my nipples, it woke me up last night, just felt like someone was jabbing me with a needle from the inside. Anyone have this happen?

Thanks for reading.

I had noticeable (as in my whole stomach jumped) movements with my son by 13 weeks. The u/s tech said it wasn't possible to be feeling him and it "must be gas"...until he head butted the u/s wand and caused her hand to jump LoL!

The more children you have given birth to, the sooner you will feel baby move. I know with my 2nd, I felt movement VERY early...so I wouldn't say it is impossible that you are feeling baby. Just remember, baby is very small and is low in you abdomen...so flutters elsewhere are not baby :)

Someone posted here recently about sister in law with twins who felt movement by 13 weeks...and other people could FEEL it too.

As to the rest, I would not lay on your back, lay on your side :) I agree with the others that your breast pain is most likely milk duct prep. Couldn't hurt to mention it to your doctor though :)

Hi there
ive have heard that if you have had a few baby's it is possiable to feel the baby quiet early in the preganancy, i have felt the same thing but just kept it to myself as many dont believe its possiable, but i do. so it could be just that of the baby moving in my book from self experiance and this is my 7th baby. the nipple thing yes its normal especaily early in the pregnancy. the tighten of the uterus hhmm maybe try not laying on the back for awhile i wouldnt take chances with that at all especially while im pregnant.
good luck and again this is only from my own experiance and im no dr. xx

I would guess that the fluttering is some kind of spasm or something. I'm not pregnant, and sometimes I get little spasms in my lower-abdomen that, if I were pregnant, I might mistake for the baby moving. It truly is IMPOSSIBLE for you to be feeling the baby at this point.

As for the stabbing feeling in your breast, that's normal - it's your milk ducts and glands getting geared up for production. It may go away, or you may feel it occasionally all the way up until you wean your baby.

Tightening of your uterus that feels like BH? Hmmm...if it's only when you lie down on your back and stretch out, it may just be those muscles stretching out. Not sure on that one.
