Looks like I am going to miscarry :(

I have had ugly cramping over the weekend and I started spotting dark brown last night. My beta from this morning's test dropped from 1289 last Fri to 680 today. I just had a feeling this would happen since my betas were slow rising. I am about 6 1/2 weeks if you go by my LMP, but about 4 weeks if you go by conception date- so I am hoping this will not be super painful and I am nervous about what to expect the next few days. Gyn's nurse called me and she said they have not ruled out ectopic yet since the u/s didnt reveal much, but if I am in alot of pain, to go to the ER and I can always call and speak to the on-call doctor once I start passing it. I am sad. I am going to email my RE and tell him whats happened and see if he wants to test me for anything else or he will attribute this loss to poor egg quality. Can anyone tell me what to to expect period-wise and I do have a heating pad. I am off the rest of the week from work so I will just wait for this to pass and move on. Thank you.

I'm sorry your going thru this, I've had 3 and they have all been different the first was a natural miscarriage, everything went well, and I bled for around 5 days passed everything ok, the second I chose to have a d&c as I was a wee bit further along and my u/s had showed no growth for 2 weeks, I actually started spotting the morning of the op so it probably wouldnt have taken much longer, no bleeding after the d&c and the 3rd was in nov, and I had quite bad cramping for 1 week prior and then bleeding for 7 days, if you fing that your filling 1 pad an hour then you should go to the hospital, so just keep an eye on that, you may have a couple of quite heavy days and then it should taper off just like your normal period, if you find that your still bleeding after around 1 1/2 wks I would go to your doctor as you may not have passed everyhting, once again I'm sorry

I am so sorry to hear this. I know the feeling all to well. I have had 2 misses they were both natural. I started with mild spotting & light cramps. By the end of the night  Pain became severe. Heavy Bleeding.  everyone is different if you start to have pain dont bare it alone! The heating pad did help! Hope this was of some help.

Ive started to pass this dark, gooey stuff and my RE's nurse emailed me. She says they can test the tissue for chromosomal abnormalties and I asked her what she wants me to do. I may go see him as my gyn is kind of useless right now and my RE wants to do some additional testing on me. So Im waiting to hear back from my RE's office. I really dont feel lke driving down there but I may have my sister take me. If they want me to 'save' what I pass, then I will. Nurse also said I may need a D & C but I didnt think I was far enough along for that. This just *****.

So sorry :-(( you must be crushed.

I have had 4 miscarriages, most with intervention - 2 d&cs because of hemoragy risks and 1 with cytotec. To speed up things you may want to ask for cytotec, it's easier psychologically to turn the page.

It's a good idea to analyze the embryo for genetic problems, I wish I had done that when I lost my twins. Ask for it if it's possible and if insurance covers the cost.

Good luck, this is never easy, take time to mourn your loss!

I'm so sorry.  I was so hoping for a better turn out for you.

I have now had 8 losses.  4 natural and 4 with D&C's.  The natural ones were uncomfortable, but not horrible.  I used a heating pad and tylenol, although did take tylenol with codeine a few times.  As for when your period starts, for me it was quite different with each natural.  Once my levels were at 0, about 4 to 5 weeks afterward.

WIth my D&Cs I had no complications and each time got my period approximately 5 weeks later.

I also had testing done and would agree that it's not a bad idea.  In my case they didn't find anything, but still, I'm glad I did it.

Take good care of you and as Ecologic says, allow yourself to grieve.  Know that we are here for you.  ((hugs)) to you.

Sorry for your lost. I had a miscarriage last year  baby had no heartbeat at 10 weeks, had stopped growing at 8 weeks. I had no bleeding or anything had a D& C 2 days later. Most hurtful thing I have experienced( not the d&c). Just found out I'm 5 weeks and I am scared to death.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Lost my last pregnancy at 10w in January because there was no heartbeat. My OB gave me the option to either do D&C or wait to miscarry naturally. I opted for D&C and didn't have any issues with it. It was pretty disheartening, had just gotten excited about being pregnant.

Just did another donor cycle a couple of weeks ago and got BFN. Waiting on AF to arrive to do follow up consult w/ my RE.

Let me know if you want to talk!

thank you... this has not been as bad as I thought it would be,, emotionally yes. I am tired of being childless and I am probably done with my own eggs.  The cramps have been controlled with pain meds and the heating pad. And I havent bled that much, except when I urinate is when I notice most of the blood. I have only soiled a few pads and the bleeding has lightened up alot today. I passed what I believe is the embryo and a sac-like thing late morning- it is a big mass and Im pretty sure thats what the lab wants so Im going to see if my gyn will send it off or my RE. I am worried about insurance not paying for it to be analyzed, Oh well. The insurance company can shove it. I saw gyn this morning early before I passed the sac, and he is sure I can get pregnant again and he may test for clotting issues and some other disorders just to be sure. I got another quant/blood test done today and he wants to do another ultrasound to see if anything is left in my uterus but I will inform him that I think its out. I stiill have wierd jabbing pains that come and go. I had to get a Rhogan shot today as my RE said my sperm donor was a pos, and I am a neg and RE thinks this miscarriage will create certain antibodies for future pregnancies, so gyn office gave me the shot. Gyn also read me the results of my u/s last week and as I said, they werent good and the doctor at the place said there was a 90% chance this pregnancy was not viable. Gyn says  he thinks donor embryos are a great idea and I told him about a couple of programs im looking into, so he can refer other patients also. He likes to hear this stuff.  But once this thing I passed gets analyzed and he gets the results, we can determine if additional testing on me is necessary. Stargazy, Im sorry about your BFN. I did read your update as we are friends and that just *****. Well, good nite and tomrrow is Friday and my birthday, Yippee. lol
