Low AMH, Normal/High FSH and Recurrent Miscarriage

Ok, I got more test results.  To recap, I have had 6 pregnancies - 5 of them resulted in m/c. I have never had a negative preg. test.  I get pregnant very easily but I've lost 5 around 10 weeks.  My FSH is 9.82, genetic testing is normal, all blood work is normal EXCEPT - my AMH.  My AMH is .62 - very low/indetectable.  What I don't understand is that my FSH is considered high normal but my AMH is horribly low.  I don't get how I can get pregnant so easy but for some reason I m/c. I ovulate regularly.  None of this makes sense to me. A high FSH and low AMH should mean that I cannot conceive.  AUGH...

Suzie I have the exact same situation as you.  I have had 4 miscarriages in the last 2 years, never have any problem getting pregnant (first attempt each time).  Never smoke, rarely drink, period is quite regular (though which gets a little irregular after my 3rd miscarriage) and had been recently diagnosed with premature ovarian failure.  The doctor said my AMH is extremely low (at 0.7) and via ultrasound, he found only two follicles (not sure how many is normal) on my right side, nothing on my left side.  My FSH is 7.0.  I read somewhere online that if the patient is <age 38, the drop in AMH usually does not accompany rise in FSH.  The doc told me to start taking DHEA for 2-3 months before start trying again...I am planning, mentally, for the worse but it is still sad and wonder "why me".

My amh is low as well under 1.1, but I'm doing acupucture and taking royal jelly, it works, as I have a 5 month old to show, and have just started doing acupucture etc again in the hope of squeezing in one more, give it a try and if nothing else it will gewt your body ready for a healthy pregnancy, royal jelly is to help with healthy eggs :)

Hi, I'm 34 and have just been told my AMH levels are 2.05 (pmol) which is very low. I am still waiting for my FSH levels to come back but previously they have been 14 then dropped to 6 when last tested. Do I have any chance at all of becoming pregnant whether it's through natural conception or IVF or do I have to accept the fact I'm never going to have children?

Hi, I've just had test results, FSH 11 and AMH 1.  My consultant told us that we had no chance of having a baby and my eggs were not even viable for ivf.  Has anyone experience of this and got pregnant and had a baby?

I don't really, but am very interested in anything (especially natural like that) that may help.  There was someone else on here not long ago talking about acupuncture to help prevent miscarriage.  I would love to share information with you as both of us come up with it.  I am in the TTC time again, and typically it doesn't take me too long, so we will see what happens this time around.  I should mention I was also on progesterone (prometrium, orally) last time as well.  I have a prescription for it now, and my OB said to fill it and start it as soon as I get a positive HPT again.    Its so frustrating when they can't give you answers.  However, I hope you take as much comfort from this site as I have.  Prevatt had 4 m/c and is now well into 2nd trimester, Carp had 2 and is now 20 weeks with a healthy baby boy.  We can do it as well.  I wish you luck, and I will send you info as I get it, as I too am looking into different options.

It is somewhat comforting to hear that someone out there has the same issues.  It seems that our case is unusual. I am looking into using acupuncture and homeopathic medicine before my next pregnancy.  Do you know anything about those options?

First off, I am so sorry you are dealing with this.  I have just had 3 m/c in a row, and I know how hard that was...I can't imagine what you are going through at 5.  Your levels don't seem way off to me, and obviously you don't have any trouble conceiving ( same thing here, I just never make it past 8 weeks or so).  I just went through every test imaginable, mainly through ultrasound and bloodwork, and they cannot find any reason why I should keep m/c.  My OB pretty much told me older eggs (I am not sure how old you are), and bad luck, and to keep trying.  In first trimester m/c 85% of the time there is no explanation.  I'm sorry, I know thats not overly helpful, but I do doubt its a result of your FSH (as you said, that would more likely affect your ability to conceive).  I wish you well, and wish I could be more helpful.

conceiving is not the issue.  Keeping a baby past 10 weeks seems to be the issue.  Do you think that could be a result of my FSH/AMH?

I agree with prevatt; your FSH doesn't sound high to me.  I was able to conceive pretty easily (and naturally) with an FSH of 15.

My FSH was 16 and I was able to concieve.  I don't think that FSH number is high to me.
