Medicaid and pregnancy?

So I'm getting really frustrated. I know this doesnt really have to so with pregnancy, sorry. My ob keeps sending me bills and whatnot and i just got put on medicaid. A lady came to my house and talked to me about the medicaid and how it would go back 3 months and pay any of my bills that I hadn't already paid. So I just got a bill for 215$ for my on app that was on 3/25 and I called the hospital and they said my medicaid wasn't filed. So she said shes gonna put it on there and send this bill to my other insurance (tricare) which doesn't pay for sh!t. So basically if they don't pay it I have to? I'm so mad. How doI get mmedicaid to pay my past bills? I live in Texas by the way.

For me they said if I pay the bill I needed to go back to the doc and have them file another claim for it with medicaid amd then the doc would reimburse me for what I paid. Florida

I live in Texas and I'm very familiar with Medicaid. If they didn't retro-activate the Medicaid, they will not pay for anything. When is your effective date of coverage? The doctors know to that if they don't file on Medicaid they can bill you all they want. If they do file on Medicaid, It's against the law for them to bill you. Keep in Mind though that there's a 95 day deadline to file any claim to Medicaid. If it's past filing deadline, the doctor doesn't have to file it, and you're responsible for your bills. Make sure they file to Tricare first and when it's denied by to Tricare then they file to Medicaid with a copy of the denial. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
