Miracles?

Saturday my fiance Saturday bleeding and went to the ER, doctor did blood work and ultrasound, levels were good but couldn't find the fetal pole. Sunday she started bleeding heavier along with a lot of painful cramps plus clots coming out, so we went to Urgent Care and they did blood work again this time levels had dropped. Doctor said it's a 50/50 chance but if her levels drop we most likely lost it. They scheduled her for an ultrasound and more blood work on Wednesday. Anyone ever been in this situation and everything turn out ok? I guess I'm asking for a miracle..... sorry for the long post.

Honestly once the levels drop that's not good at all. However doesn't mean next time she won't go on to have a healthy pregnancy. I'm so sorry you two have to go through this.

Bleeding with cramps and clotting is a very bad thing, especially if her levels are dropping! She's having a miscarriage, i'm sorry for your loss. Miscarriage is a very horrible thing and she'll be very heartbroken and upset for a while, all you can do is be there for her and support her...

Levels dropping is the strongest sign of miscarriage, but keep in mind that most miscarriages happen because of abnormalities. I know it ***** now, but know that the best time to get pregnant is following a miscarriage. If you're ready for a baby, seek a therapist for dealing with the loss and try try again. Once you guys get pregnant again and are further along (past 13 weeks) this will all seem like a bad dream. I know it hurts to lose a baby, but you've still got a chance at having the perfect little bundle. My condolences and I wish you good luck in the future.

I had the same issue...not sure about the  levels, but I had extremely heavy bleeding and clotting throughout my entire first trimester. My husband and I were back and forth to the ER and our OB. They said we were likely to miscarry, but I never believed it..prayed about it and left it in God's hands... He has the final say. Now we are in 2nd trimester..All tests have come back normal for myself and the baby. Our baby is growing right on schedule and we have no issues with bleeding or clotting since the first trimester. So get it checked by your OB, but that is not always a certain sign that you will miscarry. God bless you and praying that all turns out well!

I have a 18 month old and with her I was told I was misscarring 3 times. I have fibroids so I bled heavy and clotted for the first five months. I prayed and stayed in faith and made it to 36 weeks she came out happy and healthy. So miracles do happen! God bless.

Bleeding does not necessarily mean miscarriage, but he said that her levels dropped. The only reason progesterone levels could possibly drop is due to a miscarriage. They should close to double every 48 hours if you are still pregnant. Miracles happen and doctors can be wrong but her levels dropping are a clear sign that she already miscarried and it will pass.

I hope for a fast recovery and I wish you two good luck in the future.

One more thing - if her hcg levels are dropping have them check her thyroid.

Dropping levels don't cause miscarriage, they are a symptom of miscarriage. In the future, they may be able to put her on something to stabilize levels but it only works if she still has the pregnancy intact.
