NST etiquette

I'm getting my first non stress test done.  There are several stations separated only by curtains.  One of the other women is playing R&B music, with some rather suggestive/sexual lyrics, and talking on her phone.

Am I just an old crank, or is that just rude?  I'm exhausted and stressed from work and at least thought I could relax at this time!

I'm tempted to retaliate by playing something like Metallica or Pantera on my phone, but I'm trying to be the better person.

Yea, that's rude! Too bad you can't have a room to yourself, but I know every medical facility is different. I used to get my own room with comfy recliners, now I'm in a hospital setting with 3 hospital beds in 1 room. I would tell the nurse you're bothered by it.

I just had to vent!  I was so stressed and tired, everything gets to me more when I feel that way.  The test went well and I'm home and resting now.

She should be using headphones but it's a little strange that you don't have a personal room for the test. I have two a week an always have my own personal room. I would ask her nicely if she could use some headphones or talk to the nurse about it.

Yea that's totally rude. When I have my NSTs I like to relax and listen to my babies heartbeat. Not some obnoxious inappropriate music.
