Natural pregnancy at 43 years old

After reading numerous posts I just wanted to give all those over 40s out there hope that it is never too late. I am 43 years old and seventeen weeks pregnant with no medical intervention. I have a 23 year old daughter and 18 year old twins and when I married last year I never imagined we would be lucky enough to have a child ( this will be my husband's first). We had been trying for over 2 years and had a bad miscarriage last year but what makes this pregnancy even more remarkable is that we only had intercourse once in that month as my husband went away for three weeks. Yes I am worried and I am currently awaiting the results of my quads test which they have told me will automatically be abnormal due to my age and I have to consider whether to have an amnio etc. but I just wanted everyone to know miracles do happen.

Congratulations!  I also conceived at 42 and now again at 45 both times naturally.  My son is 2 1/2 and I'm expecting a baby girl next week.  I wish you an uneventful and healthy pregnancy!  Pam

Congratulations and good luck on your pregnancy!!!  Try not to worry too much about those first trimester screens....I just got a higher then I would have like chance of trisonomy 21, but as I keep reminding myself, the test is a screen, not diagnostic.  I wish you a sucessful and healthy pregnancy!!

I was SO happy to read this post! Congratulations to all of you 40+!
I am 43 and just suffered a missed miscarriage. I was 12 weeks but my Dr thinks the baby died at about 9+. I am still reeling from the loss and although I know a lot of my depression is due to my uneven hormones now, I'm still feeling ever so hopeless. I've always wanted children, but was on birth control since my Boyfriend doesn't want more children. I just thought "I'll worry about it later" becoming pregnant naturally, without even trying, while on BC..wow, truly a miracle baby. My heart is broken, but reading your posts gives me hope that perhaps I WILL one day have a child..miracles DO happen ;)
