Ovulation & OPKs

Hi -
I'm TTC after loosing my twins at 15 weeks in August.  I've had 2 cycles since the D&C on 8/20.  It seems my new cycle is 31 days (i had been 28 days before the pregnancy).

In september and October i tracked my ovulation uisng the Clearblue OPKs - the one that give a smiley face for a positive and just a circle for negative.  In September, I got a positive on Cycle day 16.  This month I started testing on cycle day 15 and have been testing through to cycle day 19 and haven't got a postive.

Is it possible i would have gotten a positve had i tested earlier (ie, cycle day 14)?  I'm very confusted!

Thanks!

Well, i just got AF - 4 days earlier than expected.  I guess my cycles are still off.  That said, if i ovulated 14 days ago, then I was testing during that time and never got a positive.  Plus, my husband and i covered all our bases that week....

I guess something is still not right - made an appointment with my RE for next week.  Here we go again....(sigh)...

I too am so sorry for your loss.

After a loss it can take awhile for your cycle to regulate.  My ovulation/cycles were always irregular for a few months, so it can be tough to pinpoint the exact time.  Even 3 or 4 months wouldn't be overly unusual.

A couple of things could have happened here.  Yes, you could have ovulated earlier then normal.  Or you could have had a really short surge and missed it.  Some of us find it necessary to take OPK"s twice a day around the time we think it should show.  My last cycle, I got a negative in the morning, and a positive in the afternoon.  I took another the next day out of curiosity, and it was negative, so I had a very short surge.  The month before I got a postitive CD 14, but then AF showed up CD 23, so had a short luteal phase.

Sorry, I know how frustrating this is...it is possible you missed it, or that it is very late this month.  Have you noticed any cervical mucus channges?  Good luck to you!!

so sorry for your loss.  :(

I also love the smiley face and just used them for the first time this month.  It's so hard to say if you missed it or if this is a whacky cycle?  have you been paying attention to other signs like EWCM?

I hope you get that smiley face soon!
