Positive first test negative next tests

Hi,

Been ttc for 3 years now and have been charting like crazy.  Last month decided to take a break and not think about it....I am now 8 days late.  I have NEVER been this late before.  I always have a 29-31 day cycles. I took a clearblue pregnancy test on Saturday morning that came out faint positive. I've NEVER gotten a positive test before always turned out negative.  Had other's look a the test because i thought i was seeing things but they also said it was positive.  Since then i've gotten negatives but still no period. My nurse practitioner says it can sometimes take up to 2 to 3 weeks after a missed period for the surge to show up in urine tests.  She did another urine test this morning and again it's negative. She also did blood test which we will only have the results for in 2 days.  What do you think?  Could i still be pregnant since I'm this late and have never been before?

I'm sorry you were put through such an emotional situation.  It's always such a let down to get a positive, then have it turn out to be false positive.  In the future, stay away from blue dye tests.  I have had the same thing happen....it sure looked positive and blood tests confirmed it was in fact a negative.  Blue dye tests are the worst for having fairly dark and strong phantom lines.  Stick with pink dye which are far less likely to do that.  All the best to you.

I hate mother nature! she TRULY messes with our minds! I expect mine on wednesday... so we'll see. I hate how much pregnancy symptoms are like period symptoms - another way she screws with our emotions and minds. Stay strong!!

A girlfriend of mine had her "period" throughout the first 3 months.  So you never know.  I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope for the best.  For us, we always hope for the best - bfp's, but keep planning for the worst - bfn's.. Fertility plays such a rediculous game with your emotions.  Keep strong! You know we're all here for you.
