Possibilities of conception 4 mths after birth

Hi- I had a beautiful baby girl 4 months ago and my husband and I would like to conceive again right away.  I started my period just a couple of weeks ago and I am also breastfeeding.  I work part time so she is drinking from a bottle part of the time now.  What do you think the chances are being as I've started having my period again and the baby is bottle feeding part of the time that I could conceive right away?  I have read that it's possible to have periods without ovulating because of breastfeeding.  Do you know of anyone that was breastfeeding, resumed their period at 4 months pp that was able to conceive right away being 40+ (soon 41)?

Hi, now that your periods have come back likely you are ovulating and you can get pregnant again.

Of course, as we get older it doesn't always happened as planned.  But I reckon you can monitor your cycle using temperature and/or ovulation test kit and make sure you time things right to increase your chances.

Congratulations on your daughter and best wishes for No. 2.

I know that you are usualy very fertal after baby. I know BF can delay your AF but you dont have to have your AF to get pregnat. Some woman dont know they are because they ovulate before their first AF, resulting in a baby. I found out I was pregnant with my daughter when my youngest son was 3 months old. They are 11 months apart. It took me almost 2 years ttc my 3rd son but got pregnant the first month TTC our daughter. Best of luck!!!

I had invested in an ovulation kit and to my disappointment...I've detected no surge when the calculator said I should be ovulating.  I wonder what the deal is and how hard this is going to be..
