Pregnancy after Miscarriage

I had a miscarriage when I was 41, in August, 2010.
I was almost 7 weeks pregnant when I miscarried.
Now, at age 42, I'm pregnant again. I'm 5wks and 4days. I'm happy, but terrified that something will go wrong again. I was in my fifth cycle of Chlomid and Estradiol when I became pregnant. We did Hcg testing on day 30 (304) and day 32 (585). Those numbers are much better than my the numbers from my pregnancy this past summer.
We're scheduled for an ultrasound when I reach 7 weeks. I'm trying to take things day by day, but my worries keep nagging at me. I know that stress is bad for the developing baby, but I can't avoid being anxious.
Any positive feedback would be much appreciated!
Thanks

I so understand what you are going through.  I had a few miscarriages, but did have a healthy pregnancy and baby (now 13 months old) just prior to turning 41.  I just miscarried again a few months ago, but we are trying again now.

The thing to remember is that there is nothing you did or did not do that caused this.  It is sadly so very common, and so many women will have one during their lifetime.  The good news is that having had a loss does not increase your chances of having another.  Your risk is no greater.  Sounds like things are going well.  I wish you much success!!

Good, glad you are going to take a daily walk for stress.  Just try and stay positive that this is the one that will stick.  Was it a medicated cycle or natural?

Sending you sticky baby dust,

I don't know whether my doctor ordered a progesterone check along with my Quantitative Hcg. I was curious about it myself. I've been seeing an RE who trained at Johns Hopkins, and he's been extremely cautious in the past. I guess I am just trusting his judgement--and I assume that he ordered the progesterone test and it was OK--the nurse may have not told me the levels over the phone because they were fine. I know that my progesterone levels were very good with my pregnancy this summer (around 24 at 5 weeks), and also in my first pregnancy (which resulted in my daughter, who is 5 now).
Thanks for the advice about walking. I've been almost scared to do even moderate exercise, though I've been told it's OK. I think I will take a daily walk from now on. Thanks!
We've been trying for a year. Last February, I had a chemical pregnancy. This past June, I got pregnant again, but that was the pregnancy that I lost at 7 weeks. I hope the third time's the charm!

Sounds promising, hope your 7 week u/s goes well.  Do they have you on progesterone? Since you have a history of miscarriage, they usually check and decide if you need it.  Hopefully you are doing light exercise to help with your stress like walking. How long have you been trying?
