Frozen Embryos - high fsh - what are the chances?

SHP
I just found out that I have a BFN on my second round of IVF.  They transferred 4 beautiful embryos at day three (all 8 cells)  and froze two after they went to blast on day 5.  The two that were frozen were not as beautiful as the four that were transferred but they were not bad.  I have high fsh by the way.

The doctor wants to transfer the two frozen as soon as we can.  My question is how well do frozen embryos do?  I have had my hopes so crushed.  I need the truth - no sugar coating.  I am going to try but I just feel like I need to be honest with myself so that my expectations won't be so high.  Seriously - what have your experiences been with frozen (old eggs) embryos.

Thanks guys.  I only got this many embryos because of acupunture.  In MS you have to be a licenced MD to practice acupunture.  Not many doctors want to go to medical school and then go back to school for acupunture.  We are lucky as one did in my town.  He opened his practice one month before my IVF was scheduled.  My first IVF I only did drugs and we had 7 folicles resulting in 4 embryos - they looked pretty good but not perfect.  That resulted in a chemical pg.  This time I did acupuncture twice a week for one month and we had 14 follicles (with high FSH mind you)  We wound up with 7 better embryos.  four were transferred and two made it to blast and frozen.  I believe in acupuncture.  My RE was so blown away that he called the acupunturist and they are now going to work together on all of the cases.  So- maybe my money was spent for another woman to have success.  I will do the acupunture again for transfer.  I guess the truth is my chromosomes are screwed up.  Thanks again for answering.

Jennifer,
I'm 43 and got pregnant on the first round of IVF.  I still have 5 frozen that I don't know what to do with.  I went to acupuncture once a week the month before transfer and 1 hour before transfer and 1 hour after tranfer.  I tried to get pregnant for so long before this, I know the acupuncture had to be the key.  I don't know what my FSH level was.  If I were you, I'd try the acupuncture with the last two frozen embryos.  It creates an optimal environment in the uterus for the embryos.  Good luck!

I understand from my clinic/re that chances for success for FET are less than a fresh cycle plus the older you are, the harder it is to get pg via VF.  Not to be discouraging, however, because there was a woman at my clinic, age 43, who got pg via IVF w/triplets so it happens but I don't know her FSH.  I've not done a frozen cycle but tried to do a fresh one but it was cancelled right before retrieval due to poor ovarian stimulation probably due to egg quantity/quality but I was 43 at that time.    Good luck! - jennifer
