I too am 40 and am now 10 weeks pregnant.  My husband and I tried for a year on wishes but after the doctors suggestion of trying an ovulation kit or seeing a fertility specialist we opted for the ovulation kit.  Two months later I was pregnant.  I have an 11 year old daughter and am confident that it can happen to you too.  Babydust to you and I wish you all the best!!!   Stephanie

Hi - new here (another Brit by the way). I'm 38 and married nearly two years in June and heard the words from the doctor just this Monday gone: "it's very unlikely you will ever get pregnant", devastating news! I'm not really sure why I am writing this; I know I am miles from home and perhaps just looking for company and support from people who have heard similar news....My doctor said that before we consider egg donation (the prospect of that possibly being our only option hasn't really sunk in) he will put me on Clomid - I start next month.....
I would love for someone to drop by and comment and perhaps share some of this babydust I see you kindly wish for those needing it.

astro & faith - welcome to the community!  There are so many ladies here that either are ttc, pregnant or have been recently pregnant - I like to think we're very supportive of each other through thick and thin.

fath - I'm sorry for your 3 m/c's - been there myself twice and it's devastating.  I too will continue to hope for good results for you - are you charting your temps, doing the opk thing to make sure you bd during ovulation?  Honestly (and I say this frequently), I would only give myself 3-4 months to get pregnant naturally and if that doesn't work, consult the professionals - preferably a reproductive endocrinologist (re).  He/she can tell you so much about your body & the fastest, most effective way of getting pregnant - especially if you're having multiple miscarriages - best wishes! - jen

Pum - I'm sorry that you're having to go through all of this.  I understand from my husband's patients (he's a pharmacist) that shingles is a painful illness.  I hope you get well soon!- jen

I am 41 and have just finished with a mc and shingles. Not sure which caused which so having some autoimmune tests just in case. We have a 5 year old already and I am toying with the idea of trying again one last time. It has been a rough few weeks though so a bit gunshy.

Hello everyone,

I'm new and hoping to get some support from this group.  I've read quite a few of the posts and it's great to bounce off ideas on others who are struggling with similar issues.  I'm 41, no children, ttc since april 08 and dealing with the sadness and devastation caused by 3 mc.  I continue to hope and pray for an uneventful pregnancy and a beautiful and healthy baby.

I am a new entrant into this community and you have no idea how much hope you all give me. I just turned 41 3 days ago and I thought it was high time I should have a baby. I desperately want one. I had almost lost hope with everyone around me telling me to adopt instead of trying for one the natural way but hey I want to try it the natural way first..:) so do pray and most of all I will keep you all posted since I have never been more excited and hopeful than I have ever been..thanks thanks a million and I really wish you the very best

I started using a bioidentical  progersterone cream (I think made from yams....not sure though)  and it did brings my levels back up to what my doctor referred to as "good as a twenty year old"  but alas it did nothing in the way of helping me concieve....but it started me my "baby" journey and here I am now in my 2WW holding pattern via IVF.

Hello everyone, and sending all the lovely ladies here babydust!

Beja, may I ask you what sort of fibroids you had and how large?  Thanks.

Does anyone here use natural progesterone cream?  I've heard good things about it.

Hello ladies.  I just wanted to introduce myself.  I am 44 and we have been ttc for 4 years.  We have a beautiful 6 year old daughter concieved the "old fashioned way"  when we decided to add to our family we had trouble.  We have gone through all the levels from IUI's to IVF and I am now in a 2WW with donor eggs for this last IVF cycle.  We really want to add to our family and with that being said I am glad to have found this forum.  I find everybody really understanding and supportive,  Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hello im also new and after reading most of the postings I believe we are in the right place!  most women over 35 on this site either have had a Tubal reversal or other compications that have made it more difficult to have a baby so welcome and best of luck in you new journey. I too am starting the same journey but with alot of Gods help and lots of baby dust it just might come true, best wishes...susan

I am 43 and TTC baby #1.  I have been seeing a RE for the last seven months.  One major setback was I had to have a hysteroscopic myomectomy to remove fibroids that were causing problems, including blocking both of my fallopian tubes.  I had my surgery on Feb 24th.  I am hoping DH and I can start TTC  in April.  My RE plans to put me on clomid.  I would also like to have the hcg trigger shot and iui.  DH and I are hoping this will improve our chances.

Hi there and good luck to you too. I just turned 40 as well, but unlike all the ladies here this is TTC°1 for me, and I havent  been so lucky yet. I got pregnat 6 mths after TTC naturally and was I was very encouraged by the prospect that I had no evident fertility problems as such.

However unfortunatly I experiened a missed miscarriage, in which the embryo stopped growing at week 7. The doctors seem to think it's a pretty "normal" risk at our age, especially 1st timers and especialy so early in first trimeester.
Wasting no time to find out whether  this "normal risk" will happen again, so I am currently undgoing all the possible tests that are normally done after 3 consecutive m\c, in order to make sure there is no compelling cause (immune, chromosone or uterine).
Once I get the green light to restart TTC, I will turn to artificial insemination (IUI) only to avoid losing more time, and if that doesnt work, then maybe IVF.
It's very important to acknowledge the crucial time factor, because we simply cannot afford to lose more time...
Hope you get pregnant soon !
Good luck and all the best,

Anette

Welcome! I am 41 and ttc again. My story is alot like momof8215's. I have 3 children ages 21, 20 and 11. I lost a son in Oct.(I was almost 5 months along) and have been ttc since I got the ok from my Dr. I also had no problems getting pregnant. I'm trying to do this naturally, but if nothing soon I will weigh my other options. I wish you the best and hope you get a BFP very soon! Be in touch. Sending you tons of baby dust!

Welcome to the forum. I too am ttc at age 40. I only started actively trying the past two months. This month I thought for sure that I was...all the symptoms were there. Took a hpt this morning and it was negative. I am calling my doctor today about fertility pills. I don't want to try all the high tech conception methods, I think my body just needs a little boost with ovulation. I have 3 children ages...almost 22 (March 7th), almost 20 (April 27) and my youngest is 12. I had no problem conceiving when I was younger. Wasn't even trying then but the body changes as we get older. Best of luck to you and I would really like to stay in touch with you and we can be a support team for eachother. I am really aching to have another child.  Lots of babydust to you!!!!
