can someone explain what Stress Testing is?

I've recently been assigned to have this done twice a month until delivery. I had one bad blood pressure and dr assigns this. Lol. Anyway, can anyone explain what this is? And what I would be doing? Thanks!

They are Non Stress tests to make sure the baby's heart beat increases when he or she moves. You will be relaxed in a recliner and have to push a button anytime the baby moves. I had them for the last 4 weeks because I have gestational diabetes. I have my csection tomorrow morning.

I had one yesterday. I had to sit on a reclining table and push a button when the baby moved. They strap a monitor to your belly and record the heart rate. I have another one scheduled for tomorrow.  I am overdue and that is the reason for mine.
