chiropractor vs. massage therapy

Anyone use a chiropractor or massage therapist routinely throughout the 3rd trimester? Just looking to feel my absolute best. Any insight would be appreciated!

I was in a car accident and staying going to a chiropractor because of it. Going had definitely helped with my back issues. I almost hate that my sessions are soon to come to an end. I have a Groupon for a massage at a massage parlor that does prenatal massage. When I finish my chiropractic sessions, I will go to my ob and make sure that is okay to get the massage... anything that may safely ease discomfort is definitely welcomed (in my opinion)...

ProTip: if your massage therapist has evening appts, schedule then. After come home & relax, drinking lots of water before bed. I did this & was able to sleep through the night (no pee breaks) that night (30 weeks, 37 yrs old). I'm 35 weeks now & have another scheduled next weekend!

I went to my chiropractor for my second pregnancy.   She had training for doing an adjustment on pregnant women.   I felt great throughout my pregnancy.

I have used a chiropractor for my last 5 pregnancies. Did for my first. I love the relief of hip and back pain I have gotten compared to the first! Labors for second through fifth were shorter by days too. Not sure if that was only the chiropractor though lol

Both are fine. Make sure when your making the apt that they know your prego. But your fine doing either. I get massages as often as I can. Most massage therapists are trained in prenanatal massage. The real difference is they just don't use a lot of pressure.

I have been doing both.  I have been going to a chiropractor for years. But it helps with my leg numbness/pain that gets worse when I am pregnant. I have also been getting massages throughout this pregnancy.  I had to have a note from my Dr saying it was OK to get them, and they would only do it up to 37 weeks.

Hi I was told that a massage could bring on labour, so you might want to double check with your Dr first.
