colitis

Is anyone pregnant and dealing with colitis. If so do u have less flare ups or more? I'm 8 weeks n my white blood count was a little high they said could be due to my colitis. I have had previous misscarages and hoping my colitis don't effect this pregnancy. Is anyone on meds while pregnant for colitis?

Yeah no problem. Its scary at first because you dont want your baby to have problems. If you dont feel like meds are necessary, dont let doctors scare you into taking them for "precautionary measures". Your body will tell you when its had enough and so will baby. I will say that I did avoid certain foods just to be safe. I avoided greasy, fried, and spicy foods. Those are what use to aggravate my crohns. Im sure you know what upsets your stomach so like I said, you know whats best for you. Keep that simple method, and im sure youll do great. I hope you have a healthy and enjoyable pregnancy. Take care :)

Well I have Crohns disease which is inflammation of the stomach/colon lining. My Crohns disease actually does a lot better during prehnancy. I nvr had a flare up during pregnancy and do not take meds during pregnancy for it. After my 2nd baby, I no longer had flare ups and i do not take medicine anymore period. I had a colonoscopy and it showed no signs of the disease. I truly believe pregnancy can do positive things for certain problems. Im now pregnant with my 3rd and still no flare ups. :)
