Go for natural or D&C

Hello ladies,
On Thursday I went for my first ultrasound but it showed that the baby measured at 6 weeks 2 days.....I should be 8 weeks 4 days. And there is no way my dates are off.  Going back in this Thursday for another ultrasound to see if there was any growth or heartbeat. I already know what the outcome is going to be....so my question is....what is my next step?? Wait for my body to pass it (((which I really do not want to go thru))) or get a D&C.  Looking for any  advice from women who have been thru this. Thank you!

Did they not see a heartbeat with the first u/s? I have a history of 4 miscarriages. I went in at what i thought was 7 weeks, and baby measured 5w4d. We still saw a heartbeat.... My prayers to you.

She didn't say It was viable.  And sometime the doctor can be off some at 6 weeks thats why they do another. Some people ovulate earlier or later than most.  Not every have the same type of cycle.  Good luck I am sure everything is fine.  When they did my first one they was off by 2 weeks too.  But when they did the second one it was right.

She's not talking about 11 days past conception, ladies. At least it certainly doesn't look that way to me. She's talking about 11 days past LMP - if she knows there's no way her dates were off then she was tracking periods... according to my math that means she found out at 3w6d but now her body is measuring 16 days behind. Which at that stage of the game isn't "oh everything is probably fine" by any means.
I am so sorry for your loss. All I can do in terms of advice is share my story.
I've had two miscarriages in the last year, one a blighted ovum at 11 weeks (d&c) and one arrested growth at 12 weeks - growth stopped at 8 weeks (incomplete miscarriage completed by d&c) and I would definitely choose to go straight in for d&c instead of waiting if it happens again. Even though I refused anesthesia or sedation (which were standard procedure) for both of my procedures and only got local anesthetic, the dilation and curettage was only very mild discomfort compared to the agony of the miscarriage. I delivered a 9lb baby 100% med-free and didn't come close to that kind of pain. I huddled in a heap on my knees in the shower and screamed as the contractions tore through me. I never ever ever want to go through that again.
In addition to that there is the emotional strain of knowing you're still carrying, still probably experiencing the symptoms of early pregnancy, but without the happy ending to envision and plan for. It's pretty awful, I know... but the d&c was the first step to closure for me. Physically separating my body from that which I desperately wanted but could not ever hold. At my choice and my request, instead of at the whim of my body (or whatever "higher power" you choose).
Obviously we do have a few different options when faced with such circumstances. And you have to choose what is best for you. I wish you the best of luck. Allow yourself and your partner to grieve. I wish you a perfect healthy rainbow baby in the future to shine beauty into your life when these storms have passed.

After 11 days you can have positive pregnancy test. It gives you positive result when your hcg is higher than a certain level, typically 40-50 miu/ml. Some early testing kits can also give you positive result with hcg as low as 20miu/ml. In 11 days your hcg can be as high as 50 miu/ml if the embryo is implanted early or it is very strong or you are carrying twins. Hope you get good results in your next ultrasound.

I recommend a D&C. I had to have one in June & it was an easy recovery. I had very little blood after the procedure. Plus emotionally I could not handle seeing all the blood/tissue. Plus if you wait it could take up to a month to miscarry on your own! We waited two cycles before trying for a baby, then got pregnant on the first try.

I have had 2 d & c 1 at 10 wks and 1 at 8 wks.And I had a natural 1 at 6 wks.I personally would go the d & c, you could wait awhile for it to pass naturally. After my last d & c it took me 4 mnth to conceive again.Fingers crossed that you don't have to make the decision.

Be positive if you can...Many of the new tests do state that they can show a positive 3 days before your missed period. I took home test and went to my dr. Later that day for confirmation test. When did you test at Dr.? You start producing hormones fro the very start

I would wait, it was always my fear that the pregnancy was viable and it was just early. I hope its better news on thursday, but if not a natural m/c is not that bad earky on. Its emotional, yes but not much more painful than a heavy period. D&c are invasive, I was left with some scar tissue from mine. If you can, let your body take care of it. If you cant bear it, the D&C is nice, it makes it a little easier to deal with. Hugs to you, I hope and pray you have better news thursday

Its possible to show up positive on a pregnancy test 11 days after conception. I found out before my missed period with my last.

When I went in at 8 weeks they measured me at 6 also...in asked if the Ob could do another because he said a couple weeks can make a big difference and can get a better measurment.  I was so worried as i have had a miscarrage before...Turns out I was off just a few days as i ovulated a few days late which i knew because i did the ovulation test so my Ob went off conception date to get my due date  We got to see the heart beating...I'm 16 weeks now and although I don't feel pregnant yet lol everything is healthy.

Praying for a wonderful outcome with your next ultrasound. If you do have sad news, the doctor should discuss your options. I have had 5 mc's with the last one being a "missed abortion". I was given the option to be medically induced or wait for it to come naturally. I chose naturally. It took almost 3 weeks for  my body got the message that the pregnancy wasn't viable and started the process. It was the worst mc ever. The others was like a heavy period, this one was nothing but very large, palm size clots for the first day then full on heavy bleeding and cramping to follow.

I would wait.  When I had my missed miscarriage my OB told my D&C's make you wait longer to conceive again

If I AM 6 weeks.....that means that I would have been 11 days pregnant when I took a pregnancy test and technically wouldn't have even missed a period yet. There's no way any of the tests would have shown up positive that early on

You really don't know cause you could have ovulated later than expected or the may have didn't do the test well like they did me at 6 weeks.  When they checked me again everything was fine.
