ectopic??

Does anybody know if this is a symptom:  I just found out I'm pregnant, probably 5 weeks.  My lower back is hurting and has been for a few days.  I woke up one morning with it hurting.  It feels like I pulled a muscle.  It doesn't hurt if I'm just sitting around, but if I bend a certain way or stretch it hurts.  I used a heating pad yesterday and it got a lot better, but then when I got up this morning its hurting again, not as bad.  Could this be a symptom of an ectopic preg?  Does the back pain feel like a pulled muscle?  thanks

Hey there, it doesn't sound like a symptom of ectopic pregnancy, the main symptoms of this are, shoulder tip pain (between your shoulder blades) diorrhea (pardon the spelling) extreme pain in the side of your uterus, and also a sudden relief of this pain followed by feeling VERY unwell (not just a little) indicates the ectopic rupture. these are the main symtoms. The back pain, I am afraid to say is perfectly normal in pregnancy :) just one of those things we have to endure. I hope all goes well for you and I don't think you have to worry about ectopic pregnancy. Good luck and I hope this was helpful! :)

Hi there and congrats on your pregnancy!  No, I don't think that is a symptom of etopic.  I have never had one, but have never heard of that being a complaint.  Does your Dr. have reason to think this is etopic?  If you are concerned he/she can do an ultrasound to find out for certain.  Good luck!
