fluctuating heart rate in minutes

Hi, i am 22 weeks and 6 days. Expecting a boy. At my last dr's visit the heart rate was 127 (it usually runs around 150). He wasn't concerned, just said it sounded like a boy....well i have a monitor at home and i have noticed that within a few seconds the heart rate will go from 150 to 140 to 120's and then back to 150's all within a minute or so. i always have so many other things to go over with the dr so i forget to ask...it worries me. Is this normal for the heart rate to fluctuate so quickly?

the heart rate fluctuating is a good thing - that is what they look for when they do Non Stress Tests....if baby doesn't have enough fluctuations within 10-20 minute time frame - I think it is at least 3 jumps of at least 10 beats in 10 minutes or something like that - they will get worried and will try to make baby move around more to get a "reactive" heart rate.  So you are perfectly normal for having the fluctuations, it is expected!

I agree with everyone else! Just like ours fluctuates during any given time so does ours. Is possible for your ob to do a u/s to show that everything is all good!

Congrats on your baby boy!

Babys heart will go up as it jumps around the womb, and then will settle again once its still but if its worrying you check it over with your mw!! =]

When the baby moves the around the heart rate goes up and down.  I don't think it's a big concern.

I have never payed much attention to it or lisened for long enough to notice. But the rate of his heart sounds good. I guess I wouldnt be worried untill it got too low. This may sound pretty stupid but a good way to remember to ask your doctor about some thing is a string around your finger, it always worked for me:~) Congrats on your son:~)

I forgot to mention that babies HR will rise and fall when active, so that could be what is happening............
