I was also diagnosed with gestational diabetes. However I was only 2 points over the cut off which was 53. I was at 55. Its not that bad for me besides all the extra precautions that are taken at the doctors. I have ultra sounds on every visit and am required to test myself once daily, in the am.This is an imbalance which moves you to create  a balance in your diet. That's the good thing about it. I an 36 weeks now at 43 years if age and the baby sends to be progressing at a normal size and healthy rate. Just pay attention to your diet. Ingest more raw vegetables, less carbs and sugars. Drink plenty of water, avoid processed foods and embrace light exercise such as walking, Qi Gong or Yoga. If you do this, you should be fine. Good luck and congrats.
