low lying placenta

Hi I'm 39 having my first baby and just had 20 week scan! Very exciting! I was told I had a low lying placenta blocking the birth canal? This can rectify itself but I'm a bit anxious as I've now read it can cause serious complications? Anyone got experience of this? Thanks

Yes, I'm 18+2 and experiencing it now with twins. I have total placenta previa with both placentas. I wanted to know the same thing.

Yes. I was told the same thing at my 20 week ultrasound. Doc told me no lifting, stress, or sex. Basically I needed to keep life boring to keep from having complications so that is exactly what I did. Like, I couldn't even lift the laindry basket! By my 28 week follow up, it had moved which is what typically happens as your uterus grows.
Just take it easy. This is the perfect time to have your significant other step in & take care of you. Don't be afraid to ask for help. It's in the best interest of your pregnancy that you relax as much as possible.
Take care and good luck!

Very common. It will move away from the cervix in time. Nothing to worry about.
