mucus plug loss

I'm 40weeks and 6days today. I lost my mucus plug yesterday, couldn't tell an exact time. Today I have had constant backache, sometimes feels crampy other times its just a dull ache. Also had period like cramping in lower abdomen all day.

I had the sweep done on Wednesday and the midwife said that my cervix was closed so I wasn't dilating but now I lost my plug I should b dilating right??

How long after loosing your mucus plug do you go into labour? I'm getting frustrated :(

When I had my son 1yr ago I lost my mucus plug at 38weeks 4days. On Dec17, I lost my mucus plug. All day Dec18, I was in labor with contractions. Dec19 @ 8:40am I was holding my son. Now im pregnant again with a girl wondering when i will loose my mucus plug.

I was told by my midwife today that even when you lose your plug it's not known when you will go into labor. But loss of plug should be a sign of cervical change. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and I've been having clear mucus for almost a week now but I haven't been checked for dilation so I'm just playing the waiting game. A few aches in pelvis but nothing painful. Good luck to you!

I would say that with your back hurting and cramping that you are in the early stages of labor
