please re-assure

Last night in the bath I added some more hot water. I didnt think it was too hot but when I got out I felt ill because I think the water was too hot. Im only 8 weeks and im really worried ive harmed the baby and will miscarry. I feel so guilty.

I'd mention it to your MD next visit but don't stress about it. I checked with my MD about hitting a hot tub at around 20 weeks and said "just don't stay in until you feel hot." I just dunked a time or too. You probably felt sick because you are 8 weeks pregnant which is prime feel sick time. Not because of bath temp necessarily.

They recommend not taking hot baths while pregnant because it raises your blood pressure. As long as your symptoms clear up, you should be fine. Just stick to warm baths and not hot ones. The baby should be fine.

It would have to burn you in order for it to really hurt baby. Your own body temperature is 97.8 which is pretty hot. You can feel ill after a bath if you haven't eaten or are dehydrated. Having a long bath can also dehydrate you. It could also be the drastic change in temperature or standing up too quickly. As long as you weren't sweating while in the bath you and baby should be just fine.
