repeated miscarriages

I just had a m/c at 9 1/2 wks last week. Had a D&C. this is the 3rd m/c in 2 years (the others were at 6 wks). I have had 2 full term healthy pregnancies and deliveries 7 and 16 yrs ago. I am 42 now. just wanted to have one more. will I be able to have a successful pg? I am healthy w/ no medical illnesses and do not take any medications. I live a very healthy life. Take vitamins and watch everything I eat during pg.
Sincerely,
Frustrated

Many times age doesn't have to do with m/c. I'm 27 and i just had my 3 m/c last week. This was the third since last april, all in one year. It is true that with age the chances lower but also young women can m/c.

I've gone through the same thing myself.  I've learned so much about egg quality which greatly affects 40s womens' chances of m/c's.  That being said:  I personally know two women - my sister and my own re (reproductive endocrinologist) that had babies at 40 and 43 respectively so it's possible!  It's just more difficult and the chances of miscarriages are much higher.  To increase your chances of pregnancy, consult a fertility specialist like a reproductive endocrinologist that will better further your odds. Good luck!

One of my close friends is 36, she has one healthy daughter.  She had 3 miscarriages last year and is now 21 weeks pregnant and everything is looking good!  It can happen.  All the best to you!

No one can really answer that question about a "successful pg", but as we get older our bodies i think just say "we have had enough" and no offense but you are 42.. the odds in the text book aren't like when we were in our 20"s.. just pray about it and also ask your doctor to be truthful with you about the situation. I wish you the best!
