teachers

*Teacher's Salary
*
Teachers' hefty salaries are driving up taxes, and they only work 9 or
10
months a year!

It's time we put things in perspective and pay them for what they
do--baby
sit!

We can get that for less than minimum wage. That's right. Let's give
them $3.00 an hour and only the hours they worked, not any of that
silly planning time.

That would be $19.50 a day (7:00 AM to 3:30 (or so) PM with just 25
min. off
for lunch).

Each parent should pay $19.50 a day for these teachers to baby-sit
their
children.

NOW... How many do they teach in a class, 30? So that's $19.50 x 30 =
$585.00 a day. However, remember they only work 180 days a year!!!
we're not going to pay them for any vacations.

LET'S SEE....That's $585 x 180= $105,300 per year.

What about those special teachers and the one s with master's
degrees?

Well, we could pay them minimum wage, and just to be fair, round it
off
to $7.00 an hour. That would be $7 x 6 1/2 hours x 30 children x 180
days = $245,700 per year.

Wait a minute--there's something wrong here!

Average teacher salary $50,000/180 days = $277/per day/30 students =
$9.23/6.5 hours = $1.42 per hour per student. A very inexpensive
baby-sitter and they even try - with your help - to EDUCATE your kids!

WHAT A DEAL.... And the parents don't even have to buy us pizza!

Make a teacher smile; send this to someone else who appreciates
teachers...

Amen girl!  I started to read this and I thought, "Oh, no!"  She has no idea what we do!  So much more than babysit.  Then I finished reading!  It brightened my day.  I teach kindergarten in an inner city school.  Thanks for the great start to another round of "babysitting!"

I am a first grade teacher with 25 little rugrats in my oh so small room. I wish I made that kind of money. I teach at a private school, so I basically feel like I work for nothing. I can't really complain though I love my job. I have an aid, wear scrubs and pretty much get whatever I ask for. Yes, I sound spoiled. But I did do my time at an awful public school for several years. During I had a first grader throw his desk at me, I was called ugly names, swong at and basically felt like one of these parent's are going to beat me down, because I corrected their child.

People just don't understand what we go through on a daily basis. I am all for the babysitting money, if it breaks down like that!!!! : )

I'm a former music teacher & boy did I get tired of hearing parents talk about how easy my job must be!  Do they honestly think that dealing w/a bunch of 7th graders is easy?  I kept saying over and over that I was due a raise!

I love this...it did make me smile...LOL.  I'm a spec. ed. teacher too...LOL.  I can say I'm lucky that I live in NY b/c the salary is pretty good for a teacher up here but I do hear from DH that I only work 9 or 10 months a year and he hates it when I have off for all the holidays and vacations...LOL.  He's just jealous!

Yep, I am a teacher....  My favorite quote from angry parents are "Well, I pay your salary!"  I always respond "Yep, I pay my own too!"
Do they honestly think I do not pay taxes????
