You can do this....and you arent crazy....its easy to let it "consume" you when you feel you are ready!! But just know there are plenty of women on here older than you having healthy babies !!!! My aunt is 46 and about to give birth in Sept. :-) All the best to you!

Thank you all for the encouragement!!!  I, too, am now addicted to this forum.  I just hope they don't come out and say the internet causes infertility.  Ha Ha.  Good luck to all!

Hi, I just found out last week that I'm pg with my 4th.  I was 40 in March.  I also conceived this past Feb., but it ended in m/c (I discovered I have 2 clotting disorders).  Try for a while on your own, but don't wait too long to see a dr.  SSBD.

Hi Christi!  Happy Belated birthday!  I had my son at 43, and now at 44 (soon to be 4-5) we are trying and praying for another!  Believe me, I have never felt so in tune with my body until I turned 40!!  I too am consumed with the whole conceiving babymaking frenzy...that's why I'm pretty much on this forum most of the day!!!! I love to surround myself with other women similar to me and especially women in my age group trying to have a baby!!  I have got some really terrific advice on this forum.  Most everyone is kind and eager to reveal their own personal experiences!  I thought reaching out to strangers  would be impersonal, but once you share your concern and chat with each other, you realize that the one commonality we all share together is that we are WOME.. and who better understands a woman better than another woman?  So, best of luck to you in trying to conceive, we will be here through thick and thin!!!  Thoughts and prayers to you!!  Pam

Hi - just wanted to add my hopes for a BFP for you soon!!  If you don't get one in three months, I suggest you see a dr - preferably a reproductive endocrinologist to speed things along.  We 40+ women need to take things in our own hands when ttc - good luck & SSBD! - jennifer

P.S. I'm 45 and had a baby boy in April - we conceived w/donor eggs via IVF.

Welcome!  This is a great forum and the women on here are not only supportive and encouraging, but very knowledgeable.  I'm also 40 and my DH and I have been trying to conceive the past 3 months after a m/c in February.   I agree with Amanda that one of the benefits of trying to conceive at our age is that you do become much more aware of your body and I know for myself I've become much more conscious of what I eat and drink.  I'm probably healthier now then I've ever been.  Don't worry about being obessed with trying to conceive because I think most of us are.  It's funny how once you're ready to have a baby that you really can't think about much else.  Good luck and welcome.

Hi Christi,

Welcome and a belated happy 40th to you!  Nope, you are definately not crazy.  I am 39, will be 40 in January and my husband and I are actively trying to have our first baby as well.  You will hear many many stories on here about women our age and much older successfully conceiving and having healthy pregnancies and babies.  I also feel like I am really in tune with my body right now, and thats a good thing. I do believe it may be one of the benefits of trying to conceive at our age.  I know what you mean about thinking about it all day, as I am completely obsessed with it now, and it pretty much consumes most of my thoughts.  Trying to conceive, then when I do, carrying full term.  I believe the end result will be worth it though, and I am fortunate enough to have a very patient and understanding husband.  I wish you all the best, and I hope things happen for you quickly.  We are all here to support you and cheer you on.  In my case, I am not sure how I would have gotten through the last 9 months without some of these ladies, and I am sure you will find you have the same type of experience.  Sending lots of prayers and super sticky baby dust your way!!!

Amanda
