Hello Mama's!

So, having babies is more and more common after 35 these days for a variety of reasons.  For me, it was career and just the way things worked out.  And it was not an easy task to conceive once we decided it was time.  It became a couple years of -work-.  ha.  So, is this a baby with a new partner for you, a baby put off for career, a baby that happened after you'd already had kids, just the way life worked out?  What's your story?  And how easy has it been for you to get pregnant after 35?

Hi! I've already shared my story but will also write here. Here's my story: my ex partner and I TTC for 13 months without success. He has a kid from a previous marriage. He refused to see a Dr and we finally broke up over it. That left me 37, single and desperate for a baby. Now I'm 40 yo. I have my dh and we both want to have kids. Because of previous failures we decided to consider ivf treatments. Tests showed nothing but a low amh (10.8). So apart from being old (40), and fat (!) there's no explanation.
I'm finally due to start injections as soon as my period starts. It's due in a day but I've got no sign. Most eagerly anticipated period ever! I'm so over waiting. It's taken 10 months from seeing my GP to get to this point. And now I feel like my period will never start. I'm a little beside myself. I'm guessing it's not a great sign that I'm freaking before I even start.. Those needles are longer than I expected.
So coming back to the questions. Why struggling to have a baby at 40 yo only.. I'd say this is because I failed to have the right man by my side earlier. I wanted to start my family first. Then I wasted time on relationship with my ex partner who brought nothing to my life but disappointment. We TTC for 13 months with no result and he even didn't want to see a Dr and find out what was the matter. Was it in me or in him actually - no interest, no support, nothing..I should have seen this earlier but otherwise I'd never meet my dh who loves and cares and is extremelly supportive for me now when we're facing lots of new, unexperienced before things. I'm blessed we are together and if only our ivf round were successful our life would be absolutely complete!
Sorry if it's long. Reasons for having kids at 35+ are different. But may God bless us all with little ones we want so much into our lives!

For me just the way it worked out, We tried when we were younger but it never happened. Wasn't until we were 33 that we were financially stable to try other methods of fertility and be able to see the specialist that we needed. 1st miscarriage on Clomid @ 7 weeks. Second miscarriage on Clomid @ 18 weeks. Third pregnancy we conceived naturally (we weren't even trying at this point it just happened) miscarried @16weeks. Fourth pregnancy ended in chemical. Fifth, current and final pregnancy, we're 24 weeks and have in a cervical stitch. We were scheduled for cervical stitch with 3rd pregnancy once it was indicated that an in compotent cervix was the problem but m/ced the day before the appointment. Thanking God for this pregnancy Everyday
