smoke weed before finding out im pregnant

just did a nurse visit and I'm definitely pregnant. I did not plan on this pregnancy so I have been smoking weed. I do no other drugs I don't smoke cigarettes and I hate alcohol so weed is all I ever done. but I'm just worried about being honest with my doctor when I tell him yes I smoked weed but after my nurse visit confirmed my pregnancy I just quit. the life that's growing inside is more important than my own so I want to do every thing right for my little one. so I just want to know how will doctors respond, will they tell my insurance company? will the tell my job? will they get social services involved? please help me from all this stressing I'm just trying to do the best thing without criticism

Well, congrats on your pregnancy.  You already sound like a responsible person for looking at this situation honestly.  There are many people that feel smoking weed is no big deal.  But it's illegal in most states and is smoking a drug which can affect a baby.  However, so many women do things in early pregnancy because they didn't know they were pregnant and all is fine.  Drinking alcohol, smoking even doing drugs.  I would not stress over this!!!  How far along are you?  I'm guessing that you found out you are pregnant early on so you stop now and baby will have no THC in system.  Your baby should be fine.  I don't think you'll have repercussions from this.  And your insurance company will not be reading every word in your file.  They'll be just approving your baby check up visit.  :>)  But I'm glad you want to stop.  And once you have baby, I wouldn't start again.  Babies and our children in general need sober parents who do their very best to lead healthy lifestyles.  AT most, your doctor may drug test you during pregnancy.  But this shouldn't bother you or be a concern if you are not using any.  And no social services will be called because you will be clean and your baby will be clean.  So, try not to worry.  Come back and let us know how you are doing!  Or if you have any pregnancy questions, there are knowledgeable people here to answer and support.  hugs
