12 wk ultrasound

Hi I just had my 12 wk ultrasound to check for down syndrome.  Anyway the tech said she thinks I'm having a boy. Is it too early to tell? She said don't go buying blue yet. I was hoping for a girl,  but the legs were open and there was a clear image.. Anyone had different sex determinations during their pregnancy?

@kesh26. Yea I've never heard of that! And I'm just shy of 16 wks. Hmmm. Well congrats either way!!! That's exciting to know. Its driving me up the wall! I wake up in in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep thinking about it. I don't even have a "gut" feeling. :( congrats again!

Hi. The test is called nuchal transp. Test or NT for short. Usually done between 11-14 wks.  She said it looks like a boy but she will recheck at 18 wks.

Your tech was right both times so I think mines is right too. I'm excited either way. Ultrasounds are so beautiful

The little boy parts are usually pretty hard to miss after 11 weeks lol. I found out at 13 wks by accident :-) I was getting an ultrasound and my husband blurted out OMG ITS A PENIS!!!! LOL

With my first I found out she was a girl at 13 weeks.... the tech said when she determines it that early she is right 75% of the time but to not go straight to team pink... the same tech told my sister at her 12 week ultrasound the same thing- girl and she was right 75% of the time. .. at 20 weeks (for both of us) she confirmed both were girls... they arent for certain that early but if they can tell they are usually right

I haven't had the privilege if an ultrasound since 10wks :( but I know people who have went in early (before 20 wks) and told it was a boy and found out it was a girl, but never visa versa. This is the second time I've seen ultrasound post regarding downs. My doctor doesn't do that. They do "quad" testing for different abnormalities at 18wks (my next apt) but that's just blood work. And then the anatomy scan/plus gender reveal at 20-22 wks. I'm confused. Idk why I wasbt given this?
