Preeclampsia

I'm 36 weeks and have the high blood pressure over 140/90, protein +1 in urine, continuous headaches, and pain in my right side under my rib. I know I have preeclampsia, but I was wondering if anyone else has gone through it and how long your doctor waited to deliver the baby. I'm not originally due until December 15.

I had preeclampsia with my first also. Had protein in urine, saw spots, headaches, & high numbers every visit. Dr put me on bedrest at 34 weeks & had me do 2 betamethasone (sp?) shots to help mature my daughter's lungs. I was induced at 37 weeks exactly & labored all day to end with a csection due to running a fever. All worth it though! Daughter was healthy & scored 9/10 on her apgar at birth. She is now 10 & active in soccer with straight A's!

I had preeclampsia with my first pregnancy and was induced at 37 weeks. With this pregnancy I have gestational diabetes and preeclampsia and doctor is saying to get to 35-37 weeks before induction. Good luck!

Have u been officially diagnosed with preeclampsia? And if so did your OB put u on bedrest because they should have. At 36 weeks, you can be induced if they are concerned about the preeclampsia. Baby at this time is premie but has a good chance of survival and less time to none in the NICU. At 37 weeks you're technically full term

I had preeclampsia with my first pregnancy I developed it around 28 weeks my blood pressure was like 150/98..my doctor put me on bed rest immediately. At about 35 weeks we had an ultrasound done to check on baby, our doctor decides to induce me the next week so I was 36 weeks and couple Days along. I was able to deliver my beautiful baby girl naturally and my blood pressure was great through out labor and delivery, and baby girl was healthy as can be. After having her my blood pressure didn't return to normal until she was about 8 months. Has your doc. put you on bed rest?

Pre eclampsia varies from pregnancy to pregnancy and woman to woman. It's not the same severity for everyone. The doctor will monitor your and baby vary close and if they see a change they'll either induce or do a c section so that you and baby stay safe. Then after birth they'll monitor you to make sure its gone away.
