I got one done for my 1st born. It doesnt harm the baby nor hurts. It is to check the babys heart beat and make sure its not stress. I had one done about 38weeks bc my daughter wasnt moving too much, so i ended up getting induced and she was born healthy! Shes 3now!
I was worried for my first one bc I had no idea what it was lol but its relaxing. :) and it's one of the few apts I can convince my mom not to go lol
Thanks everyone I was pretty worried but you ladies really helped me out.....I truly do appreciate it!
No they can jus feel /tell something's there. Anytime anything is on my belly he kicks it like crazy lol. And hes pretty chill hes a lazy baby lol
:), now that's cute. I wonder if the monitor affects them in any way? I didn't bother to ask, but I hope not.
Lol im at the Dr at least twice a week but I enjoy nst its relaxing and I love hearing his heartbeat. Last time he kept moving so I had to keep finding his heart beat. Then he kicked the monitor and moved way over. I thought it was funny.
My doctor doesn't do it unless there's a reason. I have to start doing that twice a week until I deliver, but it's because they have concerns. Otherwise, I wouldn't do it until I'm in labor
I also started at 32 weeks because I'm high risk. I'm jealous @ elocinin. :D
Depends on your pregnancy mine started at 32 weeks bc im high risk. They have a big leather lazy boy recliner lol I love the chair :)
they start at 36 weeks and every week till delivery
At what week do they do the NST?? I'm 35weeks and haven't gotten that test yet
The chair I was in was horrible, it was too soft for me. I did almost fall asleep, listening to his heartbeat. :)
I think its relaxing. They'll put you in a room youll have to pull your shirt up sit in a chair and they put two monitors on you. One to monitor the heart beat and the other for contractions. They'll check you wvery ten mins for a total of thirty mins uncles you need to stay longer. Its jus making sure the baby isnt stressed youll also have a button that you push when the baby moves. I enjoy mine the chair at my drs office is comfy
I did the NST last Thursday. They placed some type of heart monitor on me to hear my baby's heartbeat for 30 minutes and I had to press a button everytime he moved. Then afterwards, they checked the fluids to make sure everything was OK.
I'm guessing a non stress test. They put two round moniters on ur tummy, and have you click a hand held clicker when u feel baby move. They moniter the baby's heart rate and movement. Don't worry, it's just another way of checking to be sure baby is doing good :)
