38 weeks and MISERABLE!

Is anyone else so ready to have their baby? I'm not being impatient about meeting her...I'm miserable. I cry myself to sleep. I'm not dilating so I know labor isn't close. Any advice? Is this normal? I'm in pain!!!

Honestly, the state of your cervix is no determination for when the baby will come. It doesn't mean labor is further away because you aren't dilated at all and it doesn't mean labor is closer because you are. Just try and take a warm bath to relax. If you have a birthing ball, leaning on it and just rolling on it can help too. And remember! You are closer to it being over than you are to the beginning! Just a couple weeks or less and you get to meet your sweet bundle!!!!

@klp, yes I am on constant pain. My baby is measuring at 41 almost 42 wks and I am a small framed 5'3 girl. Every time he pushes on me it keels me over, he is so strong! Every time I walk I feel like he is going to push himself right out of me and thst my back is going to break in half. It hurts for me to even stand in the shower b.c of the extra weight on my legs. I have gained about 40lbs and it is all in my stomach so I'm very front heavy! There is no longer any comfortable sitting standing ding or laying position left for me to try. I pretty much stay medicated all day every day to get me threw. 1 more wk and then I can ask to be induced. I kept telling myself only x more days. I made it this far..

Same here. Everyday is long, hard, and painful. I just try to remind myself that I'm almost done. I'll be holding this baby in less than a month!

Yes, it's just so much pressure down there! I feel like a total wuss and like no one understands or cares. I'm supposed to graduate in a month and am still attempting school full time while working 2 jobs. I just need a break!!

Yesss!!!! I'll be 39wks tmr, I dry all day and night, can't sleep without being medicated and have been in early labor almost 3wks. I've been 1cm and 90% effaced for 3 wks. I have an irritable uterus so I get regular contractions day and night but they don't dilate me at all. It totally s*cking and I'm completely over being pregnant!

Im 35 weeks and right there with you, specially because its so hot, 90+ degrees all week, I want him out and be able to tie my own shoes =). Why dont you try nipple stimulation, sex, squats, bouncing on an exercise bal or a long walk. It is normal that you haven't dilated by this point, with my first I went from 2 to 10 in the last 2 days, my baby was born at 42 weeks, try not to worry =)
