5 weeks pregnant and nothing shows on ultrasound

I went to my obgyn after having a positive home test, the line was very fainting (I took one three days before and it was negative)  the point is that the doctor did an intravaginal ultrasound and he couldnt see anything. He said im probably about 4 weeks. But i am really worry. Does anyone has had same situation?

Glad you had good results. I'm barely going to my first apt this week.  I found out a few weeks ago but am guessing it was really early on.

I have an appoitment on monday to see if they can see a baby and heartbeat; i will be 8 weeks. About 1 and a half ago they did a blood test an hormones rise from 3,000 to 8,000 , saw a small 6 weeks sac but nothing on it so dr decided to wait 2 more weeks. Im prying for the best! Cant lie I am really nervous though. How about you? Melaniewagner

Praying for the best.
The repeated my Ultrasound at 6 weeks- but it wasn't with my Dr. It was at the imaging lab. They saw the sac and pole, and according to the reading there was a Heartbeat at 109 BPM. So so far it's going along well. I have my 8 week in - 1 week with my dr. So I am anxious for that.
I hope things go amazing on Monday.

So an update from me... my HCG levels are raising about 66% but they didn't double so I had my second ultrasound today, at the imaging center this time, instead of my doctors office. So I should have results tomorrow!

How is yours progressing glennyT?

When i found out i was pregnant i was only 3 weeks with a digital pregnancy test, i went to the Dr a week later an had an ultrasound they only seen a small sac but no baby or heartbeat so thry made me come back after 5 an a half weeks because they cant see anything before that. I am 31+4 now with a healthy baby girl. :) good luck

I just had the exact same thing happen to me. My OB stated that I could be earlier than 5 weeks or having early miscarriage signs- so the Dr. Had me take a blood test to test my HCG levels on Friday and then I took another blood test today to examine if my HCG level is raising or declining. I get results tomorrow. It's scary. I know how you're feeling. Prayers are with you.

I recommend not having ultrasound until 8-10 weeks.
My sister had one at 5 weeks with the same results as you and now has a healthy almost 4 year old.

You're just early, my OB always tried to do the first scan around 8 weeks. Won't my first I was off by a week in my count and we barely saw anything.

You're cycle may simply have been off/longer than you thought. So go back at 8 weeks and I'm sure you'll see baby and hear the heartbeat.

Where I'm from you have to wait for an ultrasound about 12 weeks we didn't know so I went into ER spotting and when the did a ultrasound I had a 14 to 16 week sac no baby inside... not saying this is your case you are still early and could still be developing and to small to detect.   They called mine a blighten pregnancy.
